R.E.D.D. Bar, Vegan Protein Bar, Low Sugar & Gluten-Free, Peanut Butter, 6 Bars

I eat a lot of energy and protein bars. I travel a lot and often they're the only food I get for hours. I have tried a lot of different bars and my previous favorites have been from Quest, but the Quest bar consistency and freshness vary substantially from batch to batch. I decided to try the Redd Peanut Butter Superfood Energy Bar on a whim, not expecting much. I had never heard of them before, but with the first bite I knew I had found a new favorite. I have now been through four boxes and am not tired of them yet, nor have I experienced any quality difference between batches. The bars are 230 calories and have 10 grams of protein; they're gluten free and have 36 mg of caffeine (which is about a third of a cup of coffee), so they provide a minor energy boost. (I am fairly caffeine sensitive so I don't eat them before bed.) They contain 11 superfoods and 23 vitamins and minerals, and are stunningly delicious. A bar is filling and has a chewy, soft consistency and delicious taste making them the most palatable energy bars I have ever eaten. If there is a downside it's that they contain 29 grams of carbohydrate per bar (14 grams of sugars) which is higher than I generally like to consume. Another drawback is that they are somewhat more expensive than most protein or energy bars, but in my opinion the nutritional balance and taste more than justifies the price. I think these bars are great and continue to reorder them. Give them a try; I think you'll love them!

I love taste and the energy boost but they are too expensive for me to buy on the regular.

This review is for the Peanut Butter flavor only. It is very hard to find an energy bar that is gluten free and soy free and these are. I originally tasted them at a New Season's tasting event. I tried all the flavors and have to say the peanut butter was the best. These are really good and fill you up for a couple hours, which is great for my job as I never know when I will have time to eat.

Very tasty and quality ingredients. A little pricey but well worth the $$

I love these but they have definitely got smaller over time..which is very disappointing

Just insanely expensive... you're paying about $5 a bar (They used to be $3 at Whole Foods then they stopped selling them) and it's just not worth it. The new formula doesn't taste as good, and it's gotten smaller meanwhile nearly doubling the price.

These peanut-butter flavored snack bars are...OK. They're pretty satisfying as a snack, and there's an initial pleasant peanut buttery taste. But as you eat them the flavor starts to become more dominated by a sharper, acidic, semi-fruity flavor that I didn't find I like very much. I'm also not sure I really truly want my convenience snack to also be a source of caffeine, but that's up to you - if you want to skip your tea and have and have a snack on the go, maybe this bar will appeal to you. At 35mg of caffeine, that's like a mild tea or a cola's worth of caffeine. The marketing language caters to a lot of current "healthy food" trends, some of which strikes me as fairly meaningless stuff, but for the segments of the population that really do need to avoid gluten, for example, or if you are a vegan that also keeps kosher, for example, go ahead and give these a try. You might like them better that I do.

Good quality, taste great, not too firm and not too mushy. Almost a meal replacement but not quite. I wish they were larger
