Terrible quality strut that just fell apart
I bought two of these. They seemed to work fine. One started making noise after 5 months. It was difficult to locate the problem and it was not very bad. At 8 months, the strut fell apart. Turns out the nut that holds the shock absorber to the top plate came off. It had already done too much damage so I replaced the whole unit. This was so easy to prevent by Monroe. Praise God that my daughter was not on the freeway at full speed when it happened. My opinion of Monroe just dropped several points.

Monroe budget product
Box arrived with lots of damage. The Quick-strut was undamaged, but all lock nuts were missing. Because the strut had no markings indicating it is a Monroe product and the box had DRV logos, I was concerned that it came from a different manufacturer. Online images did verify this is a Monroe product, which I assume is made under license
