I consider myself lucky, riding in the rain for many years, but now realizing how dangerous it is, I only ride in dry weather and do long distant walking in the rain. It is also better for working other muscles and getting the back out of that hunched over position, which is noticeable on many lifetime elder bike riders, when they walk. **Q: How to keep the bell from sliding around the handlebar when you push the trigger?** A: Thanks for the question. The cable tie allows for very precise securing of the Trigger Bell to your handlebars. The video shows how to get the tightest fit by using pliers to hold the cable tie while pushing the bell. There is a rubber back to the bell chassis which allows for extra grip when mounting directly on bare metal handlebars. Trigger Bell is really designed for fitting on the left hand side on drop bars. The reason is that on this side, you can give the hammer a really strong flick with your thumb to make a loud ring. Trigger Bell can be fitted on the right hand side, but it may be harder to find a comfortable and ergonomic position or you may not get the loudest right. I *love* how it's literally at my fingertips without my having to move my hands. Two things to bear in mind: first, positioning the bell was a bit of a compromise. I found that if it sits in the ideal position for my thumb, it interferes somewhat with the ideal position for the rest of my hand. Second, I'm definitely in the "could be louder" camp for the volume. It's noticeably softer than the bell it replaced. But that may be unavoidable because a larger bell would be even trickier to position.OK, I'm upgrading my review to four stars because the seller was so patient in reaching out to me. There's definition a frustration factor in the design -- and the video they've made isn't as clear as it could be. But I would happily work with this seller again, now that I understand where the problem comes from. Basically, instead of trying to open the zip tie from the front (as I did), you need to open from the back, where there's a lot more leverage. Even the smallest flathead screwdriver I own—and, at some risk to my hands, my thinnest bladed paring knife—could get no leverage to dislodge the engaged zip tie. Moreover, the instructional video is shot at an angle that masks the incompetent design.Don’t buy this.
