Would this speaker work with the mixer yamaha mg16xu, considering that it is not powered?

If your mixer is powered, then the passive Mackie speakers should work. Just check the ohms, but usually these handle anywhere from 4-8 ohms per speaker. Some passive mixers and some powered mixers have two options so some outputs are dedicated to active or passive speakers.

Can these be installed outdoors, exposed to rain?

Only if they are covered by an overhang. If exposed to rain, they will be damaged.

What kind of cables do I need to buy to set a pair of these? What else?
