I was diagnosed with Primary Addison's Disease May 2010. I have had adrenal insufficiency since September 2007. I take Liothyron (T3) 18.75 mg timed release every 12 hours. I started Prednisone, 9 mg daily for chronic fatigue, diagnosed by a Nurse Practitioner, December 2009. I went to an endocrinologist, April 2010, to test for Addison's Disease, and they reduced the prednisone to 7.5 mg daily. 9 am, I took 5 mg prednisone, 4 pm I took 2.5 mg prednisone, the effects wore off in 2 hours, I was then reclined or bedridden until the next morning. The prednisone did not last long enough in my system, so I searched for something to fill in the period between 4 pm and 9 am. Making the bed would be an exhausting chore that I would need to lay down afterword and taking a shower I would need to lay down afterward exhausted. Side effects of Prednisone were insomnia, heart racing, night sweats, hot flashes, weak leg muscles, did not reduce inflammation, eratic blood pressure and oral temperatures. I started taking Pregnenolone, May 19, 2010, 30 mg in the morning while taking the prednisone. 2nd - 5th day I took 30 mg pregnenolone in am and pm with the 7.5 mg daily prednisone dosage. Stopped taking prednisone on the 6th day with no adrenal crash. Currently, I take 30 mg of pregnenolone, about 7 hours apart. I don't crave salt now, no night sweats, sleep better, reduced inflammation, stronger mentally and physically. Pregnenolone is a nutritional supplement which is similar to the primary steroid your body uses to make all the hormones/steroids you need. It will boost the hormones and steroids you need boosted and reduce those that are too high. I use Pure Encapsulations Pregnenolone ordered from Amazon. I had a 24 hour "ComprehensivePLUS Hormone Profile" urine test on December 2008 which showed I was low in all steroids/hormones. Extensive blood tests in April 2010 to reveal hormone and steriod levels. Read warnings before starting. Update September 2014 - I no longer take any prescription steroids and am currently taking 30 mg of pregnenolone 1 time daily but am considering taking less due to a scalp pustule. I got a scalp pustule while taking DHEA suggested by the endocrinologist. I no longer take T3 but I do take a thyroid supplement, Thyodine manufactured by RNA 1 tablet daily. I stopped working at a place that had a machine shop which used solvents. The solvents caused the destruction of my endocrine system. 11 months after quitting I no longer needed the hydrocortisone. My strength today, 17 months after quitting my job is amazing. I have been taking Biotics Research Cytozyme AD to support and heal my adrenals.

I’ve battled brain fog for a few years due to many factors. Within weeks of taking this, I saw great health benefits. My energy levels have increased, I feel like I’m sleeping better, and over all feel so good with a clearer head. Easy to swallow pills. I have not experienced weight loss but that was not the goal in taking these.
