The grips are helpful, the spout is large and design is fun. It fits perfectly in her carseat cupholder and is easy for her to hold. We've been using for several months and there haven't been any issues with dishwasher smell soaking within the cup.The only downside is that it can be difficult to take the spout out at times for cleaning.These cups WILL leak if you cut the air valve, I don't recommend doing that!
