Great starter tool kit
What a great tool kit. I am just getting started in the Bonsai hobby and needed some trimmers and wire. This was a great way to get in and get started. This is a great way to learn what tools you might want if you continue in this hobby. They cutting tools are sharp. They are sized perfectly ro fit my hands while being small enough to get into the tiny places. For the cost, the durability and functionality are out of this world!

Better than expected for $30
Everything is exactly as described, the scissors were higher quality than expected. Wipe the grease off the blades before you cut any plants. The case comes in handy. Great value for $30

Great beginner set for the price
At first I wasn't sure I needed dedicated bonsai tools because I just wanted to trim a few bonsai jade leaves and branches, and tried using my Swiss-blade scissors and stainless steel kitchen shears. But it was a pain to clean them between uses. So, figured I'd buy this beginner kit, and I'm so glad I did! The blades are MUCH sharper, go through a branch like butter, thus giving a much sharper, cleaner cut. And since they're dedicated to my plants, I don't have to clean between uses. Plus, the sharper blades make them about ten times more FUN to use. I even got so excited, I gave my overgrown non-bonsai jade a big paring and it looks so much better now. Downsides: the leaf-cutters, while a terrific tool that I didn't even know I needed until I started using them (they're amazing!) have a handle that's made of cheap plastic that broke upon first use. Luckily, the set comes with two, so I've been really delicate with the second pair in hopes that they last. All the blades in the kit do require minimal maintenance since they're not made of stainless steel. Per another reviewer's complaint, these will rust unless you use something like camellia oil (good for Japanese kitchen knives as well) to protect them. But it seems worth it for the quality of the cut. On a personal note: I have pretty small hands and wasn't sure about the two pairs of bigger shears that didn't fit comfortably when I first opened the set. UNTIL I used them to cut larger branches, then they sort of molded to my hand as I maneuvered them in and around the plant. Hard to explain, but they work really well. While the shears might not be the world's best quality (a little stiff to use), overall, I think this beginner bonsai tool kit is an amazing deal for the price.

Okay set
The wire and shovel/rake tools are okay, but the cutters are terrible, not aligning and not fully closing down the length of the blade
