As someone with a few pets at home (who are allowed on furniture and beds) I have found many pet hairs in my ear. Started with random sharp pains in my ear, then it felt like I could hear something moving around in there from time to time. I went to the Dr with my suspicions of a dog hair being in my ear canal, sure enough, I was correct. The dr I saw was hesitant to remove the several hairs found and said I can try and irritate it to remove the hairs (to no avail), I could wait and let them come out on their own (wasn’t happening) or I could see a specials about potentially removing them. I decided to look into an ear camera I had seen ads for before. Sure enough I found many hairs in my ear, and the irritation didn’t work as I had fluid in my ears holding them in there! (Thanks allergies!) Anyhow, upon using this camera, and working carefully to remove the hairs, I got them out! It took about half an hour the first time, and I did try again later once my ear was a bit irritated from some of my digging but they were gone! I realized a week later I felt the same sensation as before and got to work again removing more hair. While this isn’t a cure, and I haven’t found anything to keep the hairs from getting into my ear, this has worked wonders for removing not only the hair, but wax build ups when it occurs as well. I have even been able to diagnose impacted ears and infections on my own with this tool! It’s quite handy and would definitely recommend. I would advise to be careful using it on others as there is a fine line between going deep enough in the canal, to too deep. And when you go a bit too deep, it can be quite surprising and painful! I wouldn’t recommend this for anyone too young to remove their own debris from their own ear. Only con I found was that the camera is cloudy, after a few uses. I can’t tell if it’s from debris (I haven’t been able to rid of) or if it’s from a crack in the camera. If it gets any worse I’ll replace the device but it still works 6 months later, and I use it near weekly!
