These work soaking up oil without soaking up water just as good as pads that I've paid twice the price for. So good in fact I was afraid the price would go up so I ordered a second box! They are scored in the center to allow for them to be torn in half making it a snap to fix under a marine engine!

These are a great buy and work amazing. Make sure you read description they only absorb oils. They will not absorb water.

This product works well. I had an oil spill on my forest land after changing oil in our excavator. It soaked it up right away. I would use this anywhere garage spills occur, probably could even use it for kitchen oil spills.

I used it in my hot tub. I have a surface well and the semi-unfiltered water still had some tannin and oils in it. The oils were staining my hot tub and I didn't want to have to clean the tub every use. Didn't know if it would work with non-petroleum oils too. Threw two pads in and came back two days later. Quite impressed. About 90% or more of the oils were absorbed by the pads. Wished it could have been 100%, but it worked much better than anything else I tried. Used a couple extra in my 34' Silverton boat bilge as a safety effort. No real oil in the bilge visible, but somehow the next time I looked at them they showed absorbed oils. Great price point and quick delivery too. Worth your $$$ and time to extract even some oils other than petroleum base. Quick update: I have found that using in the hot tub to remove tannins and oils in the water works even better than I thought. My tub runs at at least 99% oil free. Filters last twice as long without changing because the oils are removed by these pads instead of the expensive filters. When getting in the hot tub I remove the pad for aesthetics and replace it when closing the cover after getting out. I put a new pad in about once a month. It floats on the surface where the oils would be so its easy to remove. The absorbed oils caught by the pad also cleans out solid particulates that get attracted by any oil. Pulled the new filter to check it after 4 months (of using these pads) and it still looks and works like new. The old one looked stained after just a month. One dollar a month sure beats spending $50 for a filter set in the same amount of time... If you have this problem from a surface well or people using the tub without proper showers to remove sunscreen etc. try this out. I think you'll be pleasantly surprised!

These pads are terrific. They have a different texture and absorb a bit more than the 3M pads I’m used to using. The ability to test the pads in half is really handy too.

Great product would have given it a 10+ stars, however it is difficult to determine the absorbent side.
