Excellent tool to monitor the movement of an individual suffering from Alzheimer's or dementia, or someone who is at risk of injury due to falls. Use with one of Smart Caregiver's cordless/wireless alarm monitors, models 433-EC, 433-CMU, 433-CMU-40/60, or TL-2100G (all sold separately). One year manufacturer warranty. After warranty expires, replacement battery/transmitter, model TM-FM, can be purchased separately. Review: Be careful of folded crease - The product works as advertised and while the instructions were not the clearest, it eventually worked and synced with the alarm device that we bought separately. However, because the mat came folded in the box, the mat lumped upwards where the crease of the fold was. This proved extremely hazardous since my grand mother (in her 90s) can easily trip on an unexpected uneven surface when she walks over the mat to go to the bathroom at night. We could not get rid of the bump no matter how we folded it backwards (you are not supposed to fold the mat because there are sensors inside, so we did it gently). We even tried to velcro the mat to the carpet of her bedroom, but it also did not work. The mat works functionally, but be extra careful since there could be a lump in the middle and that may be dangerous for the elderly. Be careful of folded crease
