Works perfectly for 2001 BMW 540i. Only takes a couple of minutes to snap one side in. Very strong lift. Just some warning for DIYs. The 2001 BMW 540i has a long hood and opens very high. Not easy to prop up the hood with a stick as it can fall on you. Much safer to have someone hold the hood up. It only takes a few minutes.

I was skeptical in the beginning when I ordered the lift hood support because of low price, I did not know what to expect. I Installed it on my 1998 BMW 540i, I was impressed of how was easy to install & how sturdy they were; they are as good as the original product without spending the dealer price. I am hoping it will last as long the original product that was in my car (or at least until the remaining life of the car). For now I am very happy with my purchase!
