A: It can be hand washed but doesn't get wet or dirty when pressing tofu.

**Q: What is the maximum and minimum quantity (volume) of tofu or paneer that can be pressed in this?**
A: The press takes a regular sized piece of tofu (approximately  5" x 4" x 1 1/2" inches.).  As for paneer, it has been a while since I've made it, but I think it might take the curd from approximately 1/2 gallon of milk- but don't hold me to that!  BTW -I love this press.  It's adjustable and does the job quite well and so much easier than trying to stack and balance cast iron pans or bricks on top of the tofu brick or curd to extract the liquid.

I bought it because a friend of mine recommended this product. As described, it is well used to harden tofu by removing extra liquid. It is compact and easy to store. It doesn't quite fit the tofu brand I buy perfectly, but just needs a little squish and it goes in there just fine. Does the pressing perfectly, the spring on top is easy to turn. I've found that I give it a few twists at first, then go back in 10 minutes and I can twist it a few more times. Super easy to clean. The unit feels very robust. Great buy.
