Review: Quality Tools, Great Value - TLDR: The COZLOW 3-in-1 Muscle Scraper Tool Set is worth the money, I found it easy to use and clean, and it worked for me. This is a quality set of scrapers at an affordable price. They work well as part of combined therapy to heal my injured arm. Make sure to apply a quality massage balm before using it. I don't usually review products I purchase on desertcart, but this was very helpful, so I thought I might write it up for others who find themselves in similar circumstances. LONG VERSION: MY INJURY: I injured my forearm and my bicep when I pulled a very heavy suitcase out of the back end of my pickup truck -- the "jerk" motion as it dropped to the ground caused me to pull muscles and strain tendons. I thought it would get better, but it did not. I tried icing it, heating it, massaging it, taking it easy, etc. After a year of dealing with reminders of this injury (including occasional extreme pain in the middle of the night which would cause me to use my "good arm" to move my injured arm), TREATMENT: I finally went to my doctor who referred me to physical therapy. My physical therapist explained that I had scar tissue that was constantly irritating me and my muscles had not healed "smoothly," whatever that meant. Any way, my therapy included heat, a tens unit, massage, and something called a "myofascial scraper." I had never heard of such a thing and found out it is part of a branch of osteopathy known as "myofascial release." Essentially, the fascia is the soft connective tissue between muscles, skin, organs and all sorts of things. By helping break down and rebuild this tissue, it can help smooth over scars and promote healing (at least that is the theory). Again -- there is some doubt about this in the medical literature. As a sceptic, I note that there is considerable debate in the medical community over the effectiveness of myofascial release. Perhaps the most commonly known tool for myofascial release are the foam rollers people use for exercise. A very dear friend of mine in surgery explained that the idea of removing scar tissue surgically and helping it to reform has been used to repair injuries for quite a while; and although it is the most invasive way, it can be quite effective, especially in certain sports injuries, etc. She further explained that surgical repair is the most radical, and exhausting other modalities (like physical therapy) is preferred. Of note, there are studies that suggest that myofascial release as part of the therapy process can help in certain muscle injuries. So I gave the physical therapy treatment a go. It turns out that my physical therapist is great at his job. His process was to 1) warm and relax the affected muscles with heat blankets and a TENS unit , 2) apply a massage balm, 3) briefly manually massage the muscles, and 4) scrape over the affected muscles with what appeared to be a large, heavy-duty stainless steel ninja-looking shiny metal thing. That large shiny thing was a myofascial scraper. After my first therapy, the skin over the muscles was red (not bright, but like a very mild sunburn), and the next day I showed reddish dots an bruising (known as "petechiae"). I was told by my therapist that this was expected. I did this for twice a week and within three weeks I noted marked improvement in my arm. Turns out my therapist's process works. WHY I NEEDED TO BUY THIS Unfortunately, I had to take a several week trip which ended my therapy -- until I got the idea to look online and see if I could continue it myself the interim. I found a myofascial scraper very similar to my therapists for $$$ and then I found this one -- same basic shapes, multiple tools and it looked like a quality build -- and BONUS -- it was only $39. So I ordered it. I also found and bought the same massage balm my therapist uses (Palmer's Cocoa Butter Formula Daily Skin Therapy Solid Lotion with Vitamin E, Body Moisturizer for Extremely Dry Skin, Softens and Soothes, 7.25 Ounces, ASIN# B000RGBWPO). I enjoy the pleasant smell and the feel of the lotion as I work it in. I was surprised to find inexpensive TENS units, and I found one with multi-use pads. I bought the "TEC.Bean Tens Unit for Pain Management and Rehabilitation with 24 Modes and 8 Pads Pulse Impulse Massager" -- ASIN# B01F798R0S-- and spoiler alert -- I actually liked it, although the instructions are crap. REVIEW: The COZLOW 3-in-1 Muscle Scraper Tool Set is of the same thickness and heft as the tool my therapist uses, is easy to clean, and the various tools allow you to choose the best fit for the muscle you want to work on. It has crappy instructions (you have to scan a QR code to link to their site) and they don't really give you "instruction" per se, but I really didn't need instructions. For those that do, there are plenty of good videos on the various techniques on youtube. Basically -- you are not trying to harm yourself, but you don't want to go too lightly either. I forgot to apply the cocoa butter when I first started -- I do not recommend making the same mistake. The stainless steel is smooth and does not catch on your skin, but apply the balm first. You will be much happier. After heating my muscles, using the TENS unit for 15 minutes and then applying the Cocoa Butter, I used the scraper and found it extremely easy to use. I could essentially duplicate the actions my therapist showed me and continue my treatment. Having experienced the feeling of a professional applying the correct motion and scraping action, I could duplicate the pressure and action needed. If I hadn't experienced it before, I probably would have applied too light of a force or too heavy a force. I am glad I could find the products available for a relatively inexpensive price and have them delivered so quickly (all told, this was less expensive than one therapy appointment). I am able to continue my therapy and continue healing my arm even though I can't get back to my therapist. I'm very happy with the product. While I will not say it replaces therapy -- it certainly allows me to continue treating while I am away.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Well made and work perfectly
*by C***M on February 23, 2024*

Got these to help with muscle soreness and nagging plantar fasciitis. They feel substantial in your hand and the shape allows a lot of options to work on an area. I find that the oddly shaped one (with the “grip” cut out) is most useful for my needs, but having 3 options is great. They come in individual soft velvet bags, which are nice for travel so they don’t clank around in my gym bag. I definitely recommend these.
