I highly recommend this book to all! ### ⭐⭐ 2.0 out of 5 stars I was really appreciating the content UNTIL... *by A***S on Reviewed in the United States on March 3, 2023* I really liked this as I flipped through it. It shared good information for initially going over the subject without going overboard... UNTIL it lists many ways people refer to making love... and goes into great detail, with two pages of illustrations and explanations, that the word SEX stands for Spiritual EXercise and even makes a weird symbol involving the trinity and SEX. What even? Why? Why not say something much more simple and sticking to the basics like the rest of the book? I would just tear those two pages out, but there are words and illustrations on the back so that it wouldn't flow naturally. I just think it's so strange.... SPIRITUAL EXERCISE? I'm sorry, but that makes me think of prayer, communion, participating in sacraments.... not sex. I don't want to teach my child to associate the word SEX (so misused in our society) with spiritual... so when they hear "sexy" are they supposed to think that's something religious? When they hear spiritual they associate it with sex, no thank you. Conversations about sex need to start earlier than ever given the fact that kids are exposed to so much today so early no matter how much you try to protect their innocence. This book allowed me as a parent to be the first to explain these things and how God intends them to be. Very well written. Beautiful illustrations that are educational and tactfully done. So happy to have a sound resource that is specifically Catholic as well. Definitely recommend as a starting point for young children on how and why our bodies are created and the meaning of sex and marriage. The purpose of this book is not to explain puberty and the changes a tween body goes through.
