I sealed everything with some silicone sealant during re-assembly but I won't trust it to be in the outdoors exposed to rain on a long term basis or use in proximity to water such as a swimming pool. The sealing is just in case it rains while outside it will buy me a few minutes to disconnect and store the equipment.This is also not for heavy gauge wire. However, given that the switches are rated for 3A, heavy gauge wire wouldn't be needed. I used 16-3AWG SJWT outdoor extension type cable and this barley fit through the strain relief at the housing. I also soldered the wires to the little lugs provided to make sure the connections stay solid. There is room for a ground connection wire to pass through. You just have to measure and cut/splice carefully to get it all to fit.A positive for this switch is that it is double pole. If both poles are utilized, it completely disconnects from the power mains.
