How come the wood juice is $15 to ship a gallon and the wood juice is only $8 a gallon?And also more expensive as well?

Hello, the price for 1 gallon of Wood Juice is $58.95 and because of it's size, it ships via UPS Ground. The price for USP Ground shipping averages $15.99, but in most cases, is higher than that (to the east coast for example, is $18.50).

Hello, can this be used in garden boxes (for vegetable growing)?

No, we do not recommend using Wood Juice (or Pentacryl) on wood for garden use. 
- Both products are meant to treat green or semi-green wood to prevent it from cracking as it dries.  Generally, this is used on wood for indoor use, like crafts (wood cookies), furniture (slabs), turned bowls, carvings, etc.   
- When used on wood for exterior use, it will eventually leach out from the weather (rain and snow).

I have a soft maple log 36" diameter I am having it cut into slabs for outside tables and benches. What products should I use?

Since the log is large, 36" diameter, it will most likely have a high moisture content when it is cut, so we recommend using Pentacryl.  This is a wood stabilizer formulated to treat fresh cut green wood.   If the wood is being cut into rounds, or "wood cookies" off the end of the log, be sure to treat them right away, get enough Pentacryl on to saturate all the way through and then dry them slowly.  We have a step by step video on our website to walk you through the treatment process.

Since the wood will be used outdoors, a sealer will need to be applied to prevent Pentacryl from leaching out in the rain/snow.  We recommend a heavy duty one like a marine spar varnish. However, be sure the wood is completely dry (all the water has dried out), before applying the sealer, as you don't want to trap moisture in the wood - it could start rotting from the inside.
