Can the switch between computers be accomplished by using the keyboard?

No, this unit CANNOT switch computer using a hot key on the keyboard. I overlooked the fine print and found out after I received the unit. When shopping for software switchable unit, stay away from the "manually switched" ones, it implies switching is accomplished by pushing the button at the switch. Hope it helps.

I just received the kvm today. Why there are usb ends, where should i plug them into?

Does it work with a monitor splitter connected to the VGA output to allow use of two monitors?
