Annatto Seed (Whole) 10 Ounce

I use these seeds to infuse oils with for soap, as a natural soap colorant. These seeds produce a beautiful yellow, and if you increase the amount of seeds you can achieve orange. I made oval yellow soaps with little rubber ducks embedded in them were SO cute! And of course some sunflower soaps. I have NOT used this for cooking with.

These seeds arrived fresh, I expected them to be old and dry. That was not the case and I was pleasantly surprised.

Just recieved my annato seeds that I’ll be using for puerco pibil. Product seems really fresh, however it also contained a few sticks, plant fibers (I hope they’re plant and not hair), and I’m guessing dud annatto seeds that were literally hard as a rock. Will probably stick with Badia next time, shouldn’t have to process what should be a finished product.

Exactly what we were looking for. My wife and I became aware of this spice when we were stationed in the Pacific in the late "60's. We use it mostly in rice but can be used with other foods. Price is reasonable and packaging keeps it fresh. I would recommend this company and its products.

These seemed lower in flavor that some I have purchased.
