How do you assemble the stake to the rain gauge?

Yes., it works. We put it on a 4 foot pole in our yard where there are no trees or buildings so that we get an accurate reading. You can also stick it into the ground but this is inconvenient for us because we would have to take it our and put it back every time we mow our yard.

Hello! If you were to leave it outside I would say to make sure that there is not liquid in the sensors that will freeze and expand. These are great just need to use a different way to attach them to the fence post. A half inch narrow screw works the best. I put a bit of cheesecloth over the top to keep insects out. Might order some more for the spring.

I love these rain gauges, SUPER easy to use. Made of plastic, they don't last long enough if you live where there's lots of UV sunshine. And the darn things aren't that cheap either. $2 or $3 worth of plastic product, and I think it was ~$15. But I get the same thing again because they're super simple. Star deduction for the high-ish price.
