I checked the USB terminal and realized that the USB connector is a bit loose so I wiggles the USB connector to fit better and the keyboard came on. I opened up Word to test the keyboard and all is go! This solved the connection need for my keyboard. This is a very inexpensive way to resolve the PS2 to USB connection issue. Unfortunately, modern motherboards seem to universally shun PS2 mouse and keyboard ports. That made me fear my legacy heavy-duty IBM keyboard would finally have to be retired. Enter this device. Be sure to check the icons to ensure you are plugging your mouse or keyboard into the appropriate port (it supports both). Also be sure to READ THE DIRECTIONS.
