Fast charging and easy to install
I installed this socket in my car, and I was pleasantly surprised by how easy it was. Aside from the necessary tools to cut a hole in my car's plastic console, cut and strip wires, and check to make sure I had it wired correctly, I didn't really need anything but what came in the package (I did use two of my own crimp-on connectors to connect the wires from what had been my 12V "cigarette lighter" power socket to the new USB socket). The blue LED ring on the socket is handy for finding the ports in the dark; the fact that both ports are 2.1 amp ports means that it charges my smartphone quickly; the plastic nut allowed me to tighten the socket and make it nice and snug when I installed it; the rubber cover will probably be nice for covering the socket in case the blue glow becomes a nuisance or distraction at night when the socket isn't in use (and the rubber ring that attaches the cover to the socket doubles as a sort of rubber washer to make the whole assembly feel secure when it's installed and tightened up); if the cover isn't necessary for your application, you can pull it off or even cut it off with a utility blade after it's been installed.

Larger than original port, requiring cutting car panel. Works great
Ease of installation varies greatly from one vehicle to another but mine required taking off the dash & center console before I could replace my defective port with this. I removed stars from "Easy to install" not because I had to take a large amount of my car apart but because after I got to that point, I realized that this is larger than a standard accessory port so I had to enlarge the hole by cutting away at my car's dash. If you are inexperienced with doing such "damage" to your car or are not comfortable with it, look for a standard accessory port. Removing this later to replace with a standard one would be highly problematic, due to the larger hole you will likely need. I chose this over a standard accessory port since this is the second port in my car and since the first port is a standard accessory port, it made more sense to install this one as USB charger adapters always want to wiggle out of standard accessory ports on extended car rides. Having a dedicated USB charger is a great update over a USB charger adapter even if your old port works perfectly, but this REALLY needs to be made in a smaller size.

3 years in with no problems at all
I've had this installed in my 2013 Ford Focus SE for 3 years. I left it installed when I traded the 2013 SE in for a 2017 Focus ST last week. I just bought another one to install in my new car but this review is about my first one. Zero issues in 3 years but I will say that I very rarely unplugged the usb cords during the whole 3 years. One port for my dash cam, one for my phone charger. As far as installation... if you don't know what you're doing, it could be a little difficult. I installed this to the left of my steering wheel, in some unused plastics that had plenty of room behind it. Drilling out the plastic took some time and some sanding/filing to get the hole to the right size but eventually I was able to get it to fit very snug. As far as wiring, I already knew which power source I wanted to tap into. My factory cigarette lighter outlet turned on as soon as the car was unlocked, and stayed on until 30 minutes after the car was off and locked. So I cut the wires on the unit and spliced in longer wires to tap into that power source. I then tucked and ziptied the wires out of the way and I was good to go. Never blew a fuse or anything, even with a dashcam and iPhone drawing power constantly at the same time. I ended up cutting the cap off too since I knew I'd almost never unplug the two cords. I'll be installing another in my 2017 Focus ST soon in the same place. I'll post a new review or edit this one a little ways down the road to report on how the new one is doing.

Just as described; great price; works great
This is a dual USB charger that I wired into the 12v power outlet in the back of my jeep wrangler jk. The wiring that was supplied with the USB charger is a larger diameter than the stock wiring so I had no fear of overload. The supplied wiring also included an inline fuse and ring terminals, plus solderless connectors. Installation & wiring only took a few minutes and it immediately lit up with a blue LED indicator and charged up my video camera batteries in no time!

Actually outputs 1.45 amps to my phone, according to a USB tester, but I think that is the phones limitation. On the plus side, outputs 5v even with a 24v input which is ideal. Wires were good too.
