Minwax Water Based, Oil-Modified Polyurethane Protective Wood Finish, Clear Satin, ½ Pint

You may be surprised to know I find new uses for this. Besides, furniture, DIY weatherproofing for outdoor signs, sealing some wood artwork, and keeping stitched areas on shoes from unraveling!!! (And more). Low to no odor, dries quickly, clarity is good if applied in thin coats. Color doesn't turn yellow. Ease of application and cleanup add to the value. Happy customer!

I got a great deal on unfinished pine flooring so my wife and I are doing about 550 sq. ft. of flooring. Each plank has to be sanded, stained and finished. I chose Minwax satin as I've used it before on a marine application and it held up really well. This pase weekend it was in the teens outside, but with the low VOC of this product, I was able to continue working by moving inside. Virtually no smell. Dries quickly, very easy to apply - no streaks or brush marks. I thought it would take 2 gallons to do all the flooring, but based on our first batch of planks, I think I might be able to do the whole thing with a singe gallon. That is with 3 coats. Great product so far.

I hadn't used an oil-modified water "clear coat" before but this has been a very good experience. MinWax is my go-to manufacturer for all staining products. This is a new favorite product! It gives a great finish to my projects, it seals exactly as stated, great value for the money, I could have used a smaller size, but now have extra on hand so that isn't an issue. It goes on very well and gives an excellent finished product. I'd highly recommend this product. I couldn't get it locally so was happy to find it on Amazon! I recommend this seller.

Minwax is a really good and recognized name in polyurethanes. I like to make posters where I decoupage photos onto a board and sometimes paint scenes along with the photos and then complete it by polyurethaning the finished poster. Since I use acrylic paints that I can just clean my brushes in water, I like the fact that I can clean my brushes from using this in water as well since it's water based. I also work as a set painter at our local community theatre and had to refinish a piece of furniture that had become all scratched and dulled. I used acrylic paint to repaint it and then added even more water to this and brushed it on over top of the piece of furniture (a credenza) and everyone said it looked brand new. So if you want a good quality polyurethane, I would definitely recommend this. Just wish it was a tiny bit cheaper in a larger size, but for my poster boards, this size is perfect.

This is probably the best one out there IMO. Easy application and a flawless finish that is extremely hard and durable.
