Do you need a special sharpener for these pencils?

Is this the largest set of colors of Posca colored pencils? Thanks in advance

Yep 36 colors is what the posca website advertises as the full set.

How are they both oil and wax based as in the description? Pencils are generally one or the other. I'm confused.

One of the confusing things about "oil" in pencils, is it makes it sound like oil pastels, which are sort of messy and are made to smear; oil based colored pencils are not that. They are just colored pencils with a little more oil than wax. All colored pencils are an amalgamation of oil and wax, where some lean more towards one or the other. These Poscas seem pretty balanced. They lay down color nice, even on black paper, which speaks to opacity from the wax content. There is good coverage with a minimum of layering (in my opinion) Color lay down for oil leaning pencils {like Polychromos, Castle Arts Gold} pencils is more transparent so you have to layer more/work harder (lol). All that said, I got them for coloring and farting around with mixed media, and because I am a terrible art supply hoarder. I love the trays, and how they fit together with the black band, too.
