Wow, this step bit cuts through stainless steel sheet with barely any effort. I drilled 2 holed in my SS BBQ lid, which is heavy guage SS, and this baby cut through with no problems. I did start with a tiny pilot hole.

How often do you spend £30 on a drill bit? If it cuts like this one does then I'd ensure a quality spend any day as it's value for money. Used to cut through 6mm steel bulkhead on a narrow boat for an isolator switch install in a difficult position. Absolutely brilliant bit of kit, large pilot hole first then cutting oil and a steady drill speed made a 26mm hole with ease. Apart from a few scratch marks the cutter still looks brand new, I hope to use it for many more hole drillings in the future. I've used the cheaper version with their goldish coating before and can honestly say they are rubbish compared to this.
