It's not a hobby car, nor really made for racing. It's more a give-your-kid-the-car-and-watch-out kind of car that is just fun for a 5 year old, like my son. It doesn't go too fast, but it has a little zip.The controller uses a joystick style control (he jumps while playing, so we don't use the gesture controls), which is easy for little ones to handle easier than most R/C style controllers. The car spins, flips, has a follow mode and transforms, making it fun for kids to play with. We play with our cars in the grass, which made me worry for the tires, but they were fine and it ran great in our grassy areas.The car also lights up and makes noise, so it is fun to play with in the dusk.
