I tried it on various pine furniture in the house that was acclimatised, and they all read very close to each other in moisture (about 2% variation, 11-13%), so the reading for softwoods seems quite reasonable). Walls were checked in a few rooms with the drywall setting and also very similar, so consistency seems quite reasonable.

Affordable, very easy to use and definitely “must-have-at-each-house” device. Ordered it to have a second opinion after the evaluation of an ice-dam related consequence resulted in wall and floor flooding. Used the device a very next day after the wall evaluated by a professional grade moisture meter. The result? A complete match! Opened the wall, the location of the condensation on the waterproofing membrane and the interior surface of the drywall is the same as the device shows. Definitely recommend to own.
