My son has had dandruff since ever. He tried Salsamic Blue originally, but it stopped working after a year or so. This one, however, works wonders and is still working after three years. It is affordable, works like a charm (after two washes only), and the best part, it is a Head & Shoulders, so you know it smells nice and makes your hair look amazing, too. Great product that moisturizes your hair, while leaving it healthy and dandruff free.

I purchased the Head & Shoulders Clinical Dandruff Defense + Dry Scalp Rescue twin pack, and it has made a noticeable difference in just a few uses. The formula is strong enough to control flakes and itching, yet gentle on my scalp. It leaves my hair clean and fresh without feeling overly dry. The Dry Scalp Rescue adds an extra layer of hydration, which I really appreciate since most anti-dandruff shampoos can be a bit harsh. My scalp was severely inflamed after a vacation that consisted of daily swimming in pools, the ocean and keeping my hair damp for hours. Despite using chlorine removal shampoo my scalp had enough. My scalp was on fire with itching that scratching never satisfied and I had developed a couple painful wet scabs. I tried to wash more frequently and treat with ACV, rosemary oil and regular H&S but it didn't provide lasting relief or heal the scabs. My scalp was pleading for something else. I came upon Clinical Strength H&S and purchased the shampoo and conditioner bundle. I was familiar with the smell of selenium sulfide as I had to use it when I was a kid in the Rx form once. Yes, if you have read other reviews the scent is more medicinal but it worked with 2 treatments with washings about 5 days apart. I lifted my scalp with a fine tooth comb and washed with the clinical shampoo and the conditioner. It did sting a little bit because I had scratched my scalp and the sores were open so you may want to wait a few hours or overnight if you choose to do this. 3 days after my first treatment, I had huge, dry flakes but there was no itch and my scabs were healing. I'm guessing the seborrheic dermatitis/malasseezia yeast that was on my scalp dried up. I lifted the scalp again and washed my hair and this time I had no itching, no dandruff flakes, no scabs!!! I'm about 5 days from my last wash and I'm flake free and itch free. My scalp feels renewed. Btw, as an African American woman with a 4b hair type, I cannot wash my hair daily. It would severely dry out my hair. So this is promising for anyone who needs to wait a few days between washes. This product continues to work throughout the week. My scalp is now calm and I can just use it as needed going forward. I am very pleased!!

This shampoo works well at reducing flakes and dryness, but it’s a little harsh if you have sensitive skin. It helps reduce dandruff and leaves hair clean, but I can’t use it every day without some irritation. Does not completely eliminate as I have bad dandruff all of a sudden. Good results, just best in moderation. Scent is great, and leaves hair feeling very clean. Just not for extreme dandruff issues.

This stuff is awesome!!!! For the past few months I have been having extremely dry scalp and flakes from dandruff really bad! I have tried every type of dandruff shampoo that I can think of, including the classic head and shoulders with the white bottle and the blue lid, which worked for a couple days, but then I was right back in the shower doing it all over again because my head would get so much dandruff and so dried out I would actually be able to peel some of the flakes and dead skin out of my hair. So after trying everything from the classic head and shoulders to even a shampoo that had just a little bit of tar in it supposedly to help with extreme cases it still did not work a few days ago I happen to do some major reading on reviews through Amazon, and ran into this version of head and shoulders. I will admit that I was extremely skeptical. But I figured hey I’ve already tried everything else so why not try this and see what happens. By the first use was it perfect absolutely not but do you know that instant relief feeling when you know something’s working? I got that just a few minutes after jumping out of the shower after using this for the first time and it was amazing ever since then I’ve been using it every two days as the bottle instructions and it’s been doing a great job. I am no longer feeling like it is snowing for my head. The shampoo has literally saved me embarrassment, and so much itching great job head and shoulders. Keep it up. PS it’s a product that still works really well and still has a great scent for once. 🙂

This is the BEST SHAMPOO AND CONDITIONER BY H&S BY FAR FOR SEB DERMATITIS!! I've used this consistently for the past few weeks and after the first 2 applications of both products I noticed no more itchy scalp and flaking!! I almost brought Flakes Shampoo, since this item kept coming up on my IG feed all day everyday at a more expensive price point and only 4.1 ratings. Incase H&S didn't work i still had Flakes and a few others in my cart but I just hit that delete button!! Sticking with this shampoo and conditioner and most likely will setup on sub and save!!

Our dermatologist recommended this shampoo because I have dark spots on my body. He recommended it. It worked wonders for me. It has a strong scent, but when you shower, wash your hair, and body, leave it on for 5 minutes, rinse the shampoo out, and then follow with your daily soap. I highly recommend it. I love this product. We're very satisfied with its effect on our body and hair.

I used it couple times already and my flakes and itchiness improved.
