Bryan Singer returns for the most recent X-Men after being absent for the past four films, and what a return he has made. 'Days of Future Past' is truly an impressive and spectacular instalment in both the 'X- Men' franchise and the entire Marvel Cinematic Universe, combining the casts from both the original trilogy and the prequel allowing the audience to view the 'X-Men' in the past, present and future. The movie is very good. And this 2D Bluray release by Excel is also good. This does not include the DVD as it was earlier mentioned, but this doesn't bother me as I have never used the DVD's which come with Blurays. The disc includes audio in Hindi, Tamil & Telegu alongwith the exceptional DTS HD MA 7.1 track. It also includes all the features available on the international Bluray releases of the film. But keep in mind, only the 2D bluray includes these features, the 3D bluray has no features, it just comes with a bonus DVD of the movie. One more thing worth noting is that this blu-ray has few seconds of Wolverine's rear nudity censored. Those chopped few seconds are inconsequential and do not impact the story. And its probably a good thing if you are watching this movie with your kids. In my opinion, its worth buying unless you want to wait for the extended Rogue cut of the movie releasing next year.

One of the best films in the X- Men franchise.

Superb movie. One more amazing movie is including in X - Men series. Time travel is first time in any X - Men movie. The movie is directed by Bryan Singer - Gr8 director and X - Men movies specialist. Product is well with optional languages.

X-Men: Days of Future Past combines the best elements of the series to produce a satisfyingly fast-paced outing that ranks among the franchise's finest installments. The Wolverine, professor Charles, Magneto, Mystique, they all stole the show & i had a blast watching this!! But Had EXCEL released the ROGUE cut that would have been the perfect icing on the cake but it didn't. One star less for that.

This will be free of the spoilers so fear not. The "Intelligent Blockbuster" as they say has a new addition to the list. Ramping up both the Mutants as "pick-a-minority" allegory / metaphor, AND the action & effects, the film manages to make spectacular use of two amazing casts in a way that, for example, The Amazing Spider-man 2, failed to do with just one. As producer of X-Men: First Class, Bryan Singer folded the Origins Magneto script into that film, which is why that film often plays like his Origin story. As director of Days of Future Past he's made a film that could described as Origins Professor X & Mystique: as Wolverine tries to drag Charles Xavier into his position as founder and soul of the X-Men, whilst, Young Magneto& Charles compete to see whether we will end up with Raven or Mystique by the end of the film. The future of the human race also happens to hang on her path. The impression you may have gotten from the trailers is that in adapting one of the comic book industry's most famous stories the film would start in our near future and then switch to the past think again. The film masterfully switches the action back and forth between 1973 and the future, largely because the method of time travel means that those in the future remain connected, in real time, to poor old/young Wolverine as he struggles not only to change history for the better, but to undo the damage that is being caused simply because he is there and giving people knowledge of the future. What pays off here for 20th Century Fox is what paid off for Marvel in their Avengers Universe, excellent casting of the separate films. So here we get the return of the peerless Sirs Patrick Stewart & Ian McKellen, & Hugh Jackman, et al alongside the quite superb Michael Fassbender, James McAvoy, Nicholas Hoult and Jennifer Lawrence. Both past and future sets of X-Men are a joy to watch seeing their differences and similarities in the same film is a real plus. Of the new additions Fan Bingbing's Blink is the best realised and the way her powers are used gives the White house attack by Nightcrawler at the start of X-Men 2 a real run for its money. Speaking of running, American Horror Story's Evan Peters' turn as Quicksilver is extremely memorable and I think Joss Whedon maybe watching this film and wondering if the Marvel Cinematic Universe's version of Quicksilver in Avenger: Age of Ultron (and the end of Captain America: The Winter Soldier) will stack up; I promise you the Quicksilver prison break scene will be many people's favourite part of this film! Peter Dinklage is, as always, excellent, with his character another in that long list of people whose vision of a peaceful future for mankind includes squashing segments of society he doesn't care for. Like Stalin & Co he doesn't do evil laughs, because he truly sees himself as a hero Good news If you hated X-Men Origins Wolverine, as this film pretty much seems to rubber stamp the consigning of that to a "What If" story, in other words it never really happened. If you are one of those people than runs out as soon the first words appear at the end of a film (Shame on you) then you need to make sure you hang around until the very end here as the X-Men's biggest nemesis (no it is not Magneto) makes a very regal appearance 1-2-3... It's been interesting so far in 2014 as with 5 Super hero films due this year (Captain America 2, Amazing Spider-man 2, X-Men, Guardians of The Galaxy & Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles) we had one of the best ever in the MCU elevating Captain America: The Winter Soldier gave invasion of Privacy, Edward Snowden & political thrillers the Super Hero treatment. This was followed by a firm reminder of why so many comic book fans wish Sony would just let Spider-man die and return to Marvel Studios, with a duller than dishwater sequel to an already average film. Well X-Men Days of Future past, may upset those same comic book fans as Fox look to have secured their rights to Marvel's X-Men for some time to come, with their best Super hero film yet and, for my money, one of the top 5 Super hero films ever made. This movie was great - while it differed a bit with the original story line in the comics - it was still extremely well done and very entertaining. In the comics of course Kitty is the one to go back instead of Wolverine - but obviously in the world we live in today - people are more interested in seeing Hugh Jackman as Wolverine on screen than they are in seeing Ellen Page. Jennifer Lawrence as Mystique is great, having a lot of the old cast members from previous movies showing up is a great bonus as well. With Ian McKellen and Patrick Stewart back again as well - just feels great watching them on screen again. The sentinels are just down right amazing creations in a pretty scary world envisioned for us in the future. Able to change and adapt to whatever powers they are facing - they are very adept at hunting down and killing mutants and basically exterminating them. One of the best scenes / parts of the movie is with Quicksilver freeing Magneto. I could watch the scene time after time - it's just so well done and so amazing. While they did a good job with the movie - I think that Marvel Studios would have done a better job with it if it was in their hands instead of with 20th Century Fox. Marvel even told their comic book creators to stop creating new characters since those characters also become the property of the movie studios instead of Marvel. Sad - very sad. They were so stupid to sell the characters off for money back when they were cash strapped. Hopefully some day they will get the rights back to their own characters or be able to afford to just buy them back. Just doesn't seem right to have all these different studios with control of some of the most famous characters and also constantly messing up the movies. Sony had no business in rebooting the Spider Man franchise. The Wolverine Origins movie was horrible with what they did to Deadpool. The Fantastic Four movies were Meh. The Silver Surfer movie was bleh. This movie though is very entertaining, I'm looking forward to future X-Men adventures on the big screen. I could definitely see Mystique, Rogue, Quicksilver, and many others all getting solo movies or at least - movies focused on them with additional 'extras' thrown in to support them.

Great movies

Right off, let me say, I don't think this was a perfect movie, but my goodness what a wonderful showing by all involved. Sometimes a movie comes along and just kills a franchise, a movie like X-Men 3: Last Stand, or Superman IV. In fact, it's kind of what we expect. I was grieved when Brian Singer was taken off the Superman franchise (I, for one, really, liked his vision of Superman), but I don't think this masterpiece could have been orchestrated by anyone but Singer. This is one of the best super-hero films since Singer himself ushered in the new age with the original X-Men film in 2000. One can compare the two virtuoso scenes in DoFP and X2 (another of the greatest superhero films to come out of this craze). The way Nightcrawler fought his way into the oval office was stunning, from a cinematic viewpoint. The same is true of Quicksilver's scene in this film when he neutralizes the guards while breaking Magneto out of prison (the opening escape from the sentinels is impressive too). I also applaud the "big" actors for taking small roles in order to make this film as great as it is. As great as X2 was, however, this film has a lyrical, kind of progressive view of the genre that goes in bold new directions in imagining what a super-hero film can be. I think the wave of belief that "The Dark Knight" was the first genre film with "artistic" merit has subsided somewhat (I saw many glaring problems in that film, even though I thought it was a good movie by a great director), so that I can say credibly that this film equals or surpasses TDK in its artistry. Nolan's films had grittiness, while Singer's film has fantasy, but both directors have successfully done it "dark." Slowly we see that fantasy and imagination can be as important and serious as any other part of our lives. We need not load these films with wisecracks and pratfalls anymore because we have learned that though these films may not be, in the traditional sense, "realistic," they speak to something real and serious inside us.

So anyone who is familiar with the MARVEL comics is familiar with the Days of Futures Past storyline (the story which introduced Bishop for one thing) and this movie endeavours to tell its "version" of that story and although different from the comic book storyline in many places still manages to do a decent job. The Sentinels although not appearing in their well know iconic comicbook appearance exactly are truly terrifying even to the super powered and they do a great job of showing why.. An enjoyable film with plenty of to be expected action many faces old and new brought together Patrick Stewart and James Macovoy for example and future and past Charles Xaviers. Perhaps not the best film to introduce yourself to the genre but definitely a great film if you are a fan of the genre.
