I have a small wrist; will this watch band adjust to fit snugly to fit a small woman's wrist?

Yes, it will adjust to fit but probably above your wrist bone and I still have a fingers worth between the band and my wrist. I am a small woman, 5 feet tall. I think the watch is just too big for my wrist, the face of the watch is about the size of my wrist. However, it is very easy to read and I love that the face of the watch can light up. I hope this helps

is the date easy to see?

Not really. The date is rather small but I bought it for easily read time numerals and durability.

Will this band work for a large wrist?

It should–I've got wide wrists & it works very well for me.
