There is a lot to like about this trap. It's easy to set. It works well. It's easy to remove the dead mouse. It has a cup to hold the bait. My opinion is the bait cup is too shallow and the mouse can sometimes clean it out without triggering the trap. ONE THING you can do to make this an excellent trap is to add a piece of tubing (let's say 3/4" tall) to the trap to make the mouse have to get closer and look down into the tube to get to the bait. I used pieces of electrical shrink tube - I didn't shrink it, just put it in place after baiting it with a piece of dog food or peanut butter - and have had excellent results.

Ok, even though I know how this is going to sound, I swear it's really true. I initially purchased these traps due to our others being at least 20 years ago, and obviously not working that great. Besides the fact that they were the old wooden ones that I refused to use. Anyway, I found these when I was looking for something else, and I liked the way they looked & bought some, especially since winter was almost here. When they were delivered, I checked one out and thought that they'd be easy to use, even for me. They were a hard plastic with a sturdy metal spring, I really liked that it didn't have that single bar that the wooden ones did ~ they're like a cross between the wooden ones and some of the biger plastic ones, which was perfect. I stored them away and kinda forgot about it. The next night I was in the garage doing laundry, and I saw a freaking mouse running into the side of the boxes we had stored out there. I had my son help me set out 3 of the traps, and (no joke!) within 1 hour we'd caught it! It actually shocked me, cause I was so used to the old traps either not working or going off to soon & not catching the mice. After I made my husband get rid of the mouse (nope, I refuse to do that part! Lol!), I washed the trap with soap & hot water, and it cleaned up & dried very quickly. My picky husband even complimented the traps for being easy to use. Overall, the traps are a fantastic value for the price, very easy to use, are quick to catch the mice & be cleaned even quicker, very sturdy materials, and definitely ones that I will be buying again. They were also shipped & received quickly, and the packaging was great. I am very happy that someone finally manufactured a trap that is safe to use, works great, very effective, and is a terrific value for the price. I would definitely recommend this product and seller.

These traps are great. Followed directions and baited them with pnut butter. Put them out without setting them and all 6 were licked clean. So today I baited them again (super glued a small piece of yarn in the bottom of the bait cup then put pnut butter in. Put one under kitchen sink and one behind fridge. Less than 10 min later - dead mouse. I didnt think anything would happen til after dark. Easy to set and easy to release. Yarn was added to make them tug to get bait!

Easy, safe and humane mouse traps. I used a couple dozen of these to knock back a major mouse problem. Only 4 stars because after 12-18 sets the sear that holds the trap open begins to wear out making setup more challenging until eventually they no longer hold open. Much better option than the old school snap traps.

I've purchased these traps at least 3x over the last ~ 5-6 years. They've worked great and I've recommended them to friends and family who needed a reliable and easy to use trap. I've regularly been able to re-use the traps as they are easy to dispose of the rodent, re-arm, and reset. However, the most recent box I purchased in July 2026 have not performed at all. I placed 3 brand new traps out of the box in an attic space with an IR camera pointed at the traps to see when they triggered. Over the last 2 days I've watched as multiple mice have climbed directly onto the traps and consume all of the bait. Their entire body weight was on the trigger plate and they didn't activate. I presume I have a bad run of them and would be happy with a replacement box, but rather than just sending me replacements Amazon wants me to ship back the product. These are going in the trash, not back in a box for an Amazon employee to be exposed. This is the last time I will be purchasing these traps.

These have worked really well for mice. I put eight traps out late in the evening, and by the next morning six of the eight had been triggered. They caught one mouse and one rat, and one trap had disappeared completely. My guess is that a rat got caught and managed to drag the trap away. Because of that, I’ve ordered the same style of trap in the larger rat size. I reset and rebaited the traps that morning, then checked them again after lunch. By the end of the day I’d caught another three mice, rebaiting and resetting the traps after each catch. I really like the design. They’re easy to bait while they’re still unsprung, and then simple to set. They’re also very sensitive and have been consistently effective. Rodent control isn’t a pleasant job, but these traps have made it as quick and effective as I could hope for.

I bought 12 of these mouse traps from Amazon this last Oct. 12, 2022 for outside the house. So far I've caught 6 mice. We don't have a problem with mice inside the house, that's why I'm trying to get rid of them outside! As far as I know, I don't think the neighbors around here care about the mice outside. I think I'm the only one with traps around the yard. I grew up on a farm and had to deal with mice getting in the house, especially in the winter. Nothing worse watching TV on a farm and seeing a mouse run across the carpet or linoleum with the Rat Terrier dog chasing it! We did have traps in the farm house, but there were a lot of mice in the grove and the fields. The dog did stayed busy chasing mice daily. I remember as a kid, the Rat Terrier dog did get into a huge fight under the corn crib one day with a big rat! The German Shepard was called in to take care of that dusty battle under the corn crib! The rat got taken care of very quickly, once the German Shepard got a hold of the rat! A few years ago, we did find mice in our attached garage in the city. They entered the garage by chewing the rubber base on the bottom of the double garage door, which is the entrance of our 2 vehicles. Our yard is fairly big and we have a large number of plants (Hosta plants etc.) in the front and back yard, which the mice like to hid under during the summer and make nests. The plants most likely protects them in the winter if they're not hauled away to the dump. We cut them back in the fall and take the leaves to the dump. Mice like the leaves for the winter, so that's one reason we get rid of them in the fall instead of the next spring. They also like dried out grass clippings to make their nest. These traps work well, but a few out of the 12 seem to be a little "harder" to set than the rest. So far I've used 8 of the 12 traps and have lost 5 of them so far. I think the squirrels like the peanut butter I've used to catch the mice! They may have been the thieves snapping the 5 traps and hauling them away somewhere by trying to get the peanut butter out of the traps to eat! If that's the case, I'm sure their head is sore if they snapped the trap! I also saw a Hawk sitting on the neighbors fence a few days ago, so that Hawk could've grabbed the dead mice in the trap and flew away! There are 2 holes in the base of the plastic trap, which can be used to secure the trap with small screws to something secure so it can't be heisted by a Hawk or a Squirrel! I've secured 3 traps so far with 2 small screws to flat pieces of wood which seems to work and not disappear! Also, a thin wire can be used to secure the trap to something so it can't disappear like the 5 I've lost! String probably wouldn't work, as they can chew shred that! What I've now done in the past week is place 3 traps on 3-1/2" x 1 foot 1/2" thick boards securing the trap to the board with 2 screws on each trap. All the traps are outside. The past few days, I've caught 1 mouse since I put the 3 traps on the boards. So far none of the 3 have disappeared like the 5 previous traps without boards secured to them! I did notice one of the traps connected to a board was snapped and no mouse was in that trap. It could've been a mouse that mounted the trap from BEHIND the trap! Mounting the trap from the SIDE or the FRONT should catch the mouse! Mounting the trap from BEHIND, which is easy with these traps, a mouse could snap the trap that way and escape free! All the peanut butter was eaten out of that trap! We have a few Squirrels running around the yard lately, so they also could've snapped the trap for the peanut butter and ran away with the trap to eat the peanut butter somewhere else, because we have yet to find the 5 traps that disappeared! Peanut butter is a better alternative as mice are attracted to nuts and seeds, but peanut butter has a sticky consistency which means mice can't take it off the trap that easy and will have to consume it on the trap itself. You can also use chocolate or hazelnut spread. If you want to use solid foods, use food that you can tie to the trigger. Here it's Nov. 3rd. The last couple days, the 3 traps have caught 2 more mice with these traps and peanut butter. What I've done so far with only the 3 traps is put flat "retaining wall" thick rocks on the back and the back half of each side of the trap so the mice have to try and get the peanut butter from the front! It seems to work, but if it's a squirrel, that animal will most likely snap the trap with its nose and eat the peanut butter with a sore SNOOT! I've lost 5 traps before I secured the 3 traps with wood and 2 screws for each trap. I now only have 3 traps in the yard. The other 4 traps I haven't put outside yet.

Like: Easy to bait, set, and clean Dislike: Easily robbed (Prior to deterrent implemented (discussed later) I saw about four rob-without-trip and two rob-with-trip events for every actual capture) Bait Used: Peanut butter and peanut oil. There seems to be no problem attracting the mice to the traps. Robbery Aftermath: The bait cups are typically thoroughly emptied. Indeed, even in the case of capture, the bait cup are frequently largely emptied. Theft Deterrent Measure: I found some cheap plastic storage cups that nicely cover the back half of the trap without interfering with the traps' action. This measure was taken to counter my suspicion that the mice are coming over the back of the trap and therefore being missed even if the trap does trip (placing the traps in multiple directions to cover alternate avenues of approach did no good). Post Deterrent Application Outcome: The number of captures is now about 50/50 with robberies of both types (combined). The mice now captured have typically approached the bait from the side (before, most captures were head-into-the-business-end. I'm assuming those mice were from Clan Incautious). Postulated Performance Problem Source: The force needed to trigger the trap is larger than the force of mouse weight applied while accessing the bait. Mice approaching from the side (as I have seen in some recent captures) will have their applied force operating through a shorter "lever-arm" than is in-play for mice making the classic business-end-in approach. Thus, side-feeders get away with applying more force before the trap trips. Postulated Contributing Factor: There seems to be a direct correlation between force of impact upon trip to the force require to trip. Mechanical advantage factors in the mechanism seemingly need to be adjusted to account for "less affluent" and side-feeding rodents. As for the potential in-the-backdoor vulnerability... There are several design ideas that could help, but the above-mentioned deterrent is a reasonable starting place for current owners of these traps.

Here's my honest review. On my very first day getting these traps, I baited them with smooth peanut butter and placed total of 6 traps out. Ultimately 4 traps showed dead mice, one trap seems to have no more peanut butter left and yet was not triggered and another was triggered and still had peanut butter but no mice. I can only assume that out of the 6 traps, the majority (4) worked and two failed. Looking closely at the traps that had successfully caught mice, some of them had peanut butter that was visibly reduced and could mean that they weren't instantly shut when the mice was on them and fed, but eventually caught them. I figured you should ideally add the peanut butter in deeply and generously to the bait cup so the mice will stay longer and it be harder to lick clean quickly, compared to just adding a small droplet on top. However I don't know why one trap got triggered and no mice. Maybe the mice managed to pull out. Who knows? There was another trap next to it, that caught a mice and maybe that mice trap merely triggered the other. But all in all, it's been still quite satisfying catching these critters finally. For days, I had to deal with their loud gnawing and watching them sprint across the room helplessly. I am quite satisfied with the performance and the value of these traps. And you do get heaps of traps for your money and can always rebait them and the smooth peanut butter seems to do the trick in attracting them. I think I can use them for a long while and considering it caught me 4 mice on the first day and I had zero experience in catching mice prior, I think this product deserves 5 stars from me but do need to note that it wasn't a 100 percent success rate. It was a 4 out of 6 success rate for me and cleaning the trap and discarding the mice, is easy as there's no mess.

First day it arrived, put one in the kitchen, aftervan hour,catch one, put another 2, overnight catch again. 2nd day, catch another 2! This one is crazy effective! Worth the money

These are wonderful little mouse traps. No more accidental snapped fingers. I used them in my chicken run as we had a mouse problem and caught 10 mice in the first two nights. Quick end for the mice, easy to remove the bodies. I used some peanut butter as bait and it worked well.
