1844 Helko Werk Germany - Premium Leather Axe Sheath (Hatchet)

Very nice hatchet sheath for the money. It fit the Swiss Military surplus hatchet I bought it for fine. Large enough for a slightly bigger head but fits well.

I love the old school feel, real leather, solid buckle, order forms that come with it are super cool. They need to put more effort into making sure it can't come off, as it is, it's very easy for it to come off inadvertently, hence the loss of a star.

Extremely well made

The leather is very thick. The rivets and stitching are well done. It was easy to wet it for fitting and it has a lot of holes in the strap to accommodate various sizes. It is a little big for my American-style 1.1lb hachet, but that was expected. I will trim some excess strap material once I am done fitting and conditioning. The discoloration in the photo is because it was starting to dry after fitting. I will treat it with neatsfoot oil once the water evaporates out.

I was thinking of making my own hatchet sheath and decided just to check on Amazon to get some ideas. The second item that came up was the Helko Werk leather axe/hatchet sheath. I looked like "Exactly" what I needed at a very affordable price. When it arrived, I was thrilled and I still am. It protects the edge from damage and the user from damage. What more could I ask for.
