Its somewhat flat which is what I needed because other ones were too thick. I'm not sure how it would work as a single pillow--it may not be thick enough for side sleepers. The cover is really nice and also washable. I let it air out a bit because like all memory foam pillows, it has a slight smell at first. This pillow is a little longer than a standard queen size pillow; I found that my asian-made bamboo pillow cases fit better than my US made pillow cases. ### ⭐⭐ Not supportive for side sleepers *by D***C on Reviewed in the United States on July 15, 2017* It's very soft and squishy so it feels nice to lay on, but as a side sleeper I need a thick pillow that will support my neck. This pillow is just too thin to be comfortable for me (maybe three inches tall max). and when I lay on it, the pillow squishes even more until I feel like my head is practically on the mattress. Its just way too squishy to be supportive. It arrived rolled up in a carrying bag. After I opened the bag and unrolled it, I noticed a foul odor. I find the protective covering for the foam to be of high quality. However, the foam is not what I was looking for. It is too thin and lacks the doughy feeling that I like about memory foam.
