I’m not a video watcher. Don’t have the patience. I’m a reader. The printed instructions don’t tell you: - choice of roller in much detail and this is important - it will be very sticky while curing, first eight hours. any dust or any particle that settles on it will be part of your end result - dry rolling to get a smooth surface It has an orange peel texture because rolled it on thickly with a hard foam roller. Now after applying I’m reading in the reviews about dry rolling. Still have plenty. Maybe I’ll sand and try it.

I just applied UTC gloss finish and I am super pleased with the results. I was a bit leery about doing this after reading the negative reviews but after watching videos and researching how to apply it turned out perfect. There is a texture to it (says so on the product) but I feel the texture is determined by the nap of the roller. Be sure to use the microfiber 1/4” nap and have LOTS of them! I did notice that when doing the dry roll, if my roller got too wet, it would smear. So be sure to change them out often. Having only a 15min work time was a little stressful but doable. My coverage area was 80sqft so I sectioned it off into 3 pours. I will say, the product is more forgiving than I expected (had a few oopsies with dog hair getting in the product). I was able to fix it while wet, roll again and dry roll. My take away from the whole Stonecoat countertop experience is to just trust the process.

I bought matte and did a sample board. I did not care for the matte on the light countertop so I ordered high gloss. High gloss was my preferred shine I felt it showed more depth and detail. Came out nice. In the photo is 3 photos of my 1 sample board with high gloss on the top, 2" of original epoxy (sorry sanded for top coat) and on the bottom of the board is the matte.

I have used this on my own surfaces & with someone elses Stone Coat countertops. I even put it on an older epoxy countertop finish installed in my home to bring it back to life. After seeing the BEAUTIFUL STONE COAT GLASS LIKE epoxy finish that was absolutely gorgeous...I had mixed feelings about the "textured gloss finish". I UNDERSTAND the need for the hard surface coat in a kitchen..but I lost alot of the glass look, but still shiny. I did not use the product on my bathroom tops & kept the glass epoxy look...HOWEVER...every smudge of dirt/water/smudge shows up clearly! The topcoat does somewhat hides the immediate water marks, etc. I do like the top coat finish in the kitchen areas. It does look more natural.

I love everything by this company. I redid my matte finish, sanded it off and went over it with the gloss, I love it even more this way.
