Dynasty Hardware Door Closer, Commercial Hydraulic Closer, Self-Closing, Spring Size 4, Surface Mount, Sprayed Aluminum, Series 4000

So my downstairs neighbor (Slammy McGee) kept slamming the heavy foyer door late at night, and it would shake my whole apartment every time he did (literally sounded like a bomb was going off). I tried talking to him a few times about it, but it just wasn't sinking in. I looked up the best way to prevent someone from slamming a door, and an automatic door closer was the top recommendation online. This took about 20 minutes to install, and after I set it up, I tried six ways from Sunday to slam the door, and it literally makes it impossible to slam the door (closes whisper quiet even when trying to slam the door). It has adjustments for the speed at which it closes the first 90% of the door, and another adjustment for the last 10% of the door closing. It can be mounted on either side of a door, and comes with hardware to mount it to either the side or the underside of the door frame. This thing is absolutely amazing. Amazing for $45. It’s heavyweight feels very solid great nice thick screws come with it and it works fantastic. I did have to read the installation instructions several times to understand how to mount it because you have several options on how to do it, however after that initial confusion/hesitation I went ahead and installed it and it worked perfectly the very first time no adjustments needed …. wow!!

This 4000 model is rock solid and built like it is supposed to last. Had a tricky install on my particular metal shop door so called Dynasty directly. To my surprise, Jason picked up the phone at 6:30pm CST and spent 20 minutes trouble shooting my situation. He helped me find a creative solution and everything turned out great. Looks like a nice unit - especially for the price. It comes with a mounting template for each of the 3 ways that it can be installed. I guess it could be a little confusing, but I found it relatively easy to install, and I'm happy with it. I hope it lasts a long time, but if not, I'll come here and complain about it publicly!

The part was broken while open the package.

product did not have enough strength to close door against a 25 kph wind , other than that it seems to be o.k.

Leaking grease already after two months. OK for light duty use only.
