Who cares how many lumens, really? These are bright enough for any work around the house or car. You can spend $40+ dollars for an all aluminum one from Braun like I did and it will throw more light from it's more powerful and longer light bar. But you don't always need that. I keep one handy in the house and one in my car. I've timed the charge and after 1 1/2 hours it's still going strong on the brightest setting. Can't beat it for eight bucks.

These are rechargable lithium Ion batteries... You should not solder to them if you decide to replace after it loses capacity (A Spot Welder Would be the appropriate Method due to high temp issues with soldering)... which based on most lithium 18650 batteries.... will be a very long time before losing capacity... probably 1000 or more discarge/ recharge cycles... and then you will typically still have 70% of capacity... reducing the 2-2.5 hours down to 1.4 to 1.75 hours... Just wrote this to address the person talking about soldering a new battery... you need to look into how lithium batterys work, and the limitations of high heat...

how do you know when it is fully charged?

For this particular light it is red while charging and turns green when charged as the first responder stated.
