One of the better beef jerkies I had. Chewy but very tasty.
This Jerky is very tasty. Its texture is dryer but has a good chew. It’s kind of on the expensive side, so I only get it occasionally. I do however look forward to those occasions.

not the same and the meat is horrible
I started buying Wild Bill's jerky about 20 years ago when they were just a little operation out of the Lancaster PA area. At that time, it had been almost 20 years since I'd had honest-to-goodness beef jerky made from premium cuts of beef. No frills, dry, salty & chewy with a delicious hint of soy and worcestershire sauce - there isn't a better type of beef jerky on the market in my opinion. Then they sold themselves off about 10 years ago or so, and it's been downhill ever since. The last bag I bought before this one was about 3 or 4 years ago. I didn't love it nearly as much, but it didn't repulse me. It's taken me this long to pull the trigger again and see if they had fixed themselves in the meantime. Spoiler alert: I threw this bag out. The beef was disgusting tasting. You can tell the beef had started to go rancid right before they got to marinating and dehydrating it. I've had beef jerky that's gone bad before, and you can tell when it's good jerky that's gone bad due to age. This bag was definitely fresh jerky, not gone bad (best by date Jan 23, 2026 - today is May 7, 2025), made with rancid beef. $42 wasted because it's a perishable food item and Amazon won't allow returns on that. Do yourself a favor and don't bother giving the new company (Monogram Meat Snack out of Memphis, TN) any of your hard earned $$. They don't care about you, and it's obvious in what they've done to dilute the original product into the horrible one it's become. Good-bye Wild Bill's. I won't miss what you have become, but I already deeply regret the passing of the beef jerky you once were...

As close to the "perfect jerky" as we've found so far
The best beef jerky I've tried so far! I've been trying to find the perfect beef jerky for my family and myself, we've tried over 80 different brands so far. Wild Bill's by far, is the best we've tried. If you like real jerky, NOT the moist, soft, stuff like Jack Link's or Krave, to us that type jerky is just nasty, this is real jerky, where you actually tear a piece off with your teeth and chew it for a bit. It's, dry, like good jerky should be, it's tough but the pieces are still tender. The flavor of the original is great, not over powering so you taste the beef, the flavor of the peppered is near perfect, if they could lower the salt flavor by maybe 25% than it would be the absolute perfect flavored jerky. It's still the best I've ever had, I'm seeking the perfect jerky and that would do it. I love it in strips like they cut it, no huge odd shaped pieces, every strip is close in size and the flavor is consistent through each piece. With the peppered flavor, the seasoning is on the jerky, you can taste it in every bite of every piece, which is really nice because most brands have a lot of cracked pepper in the bottom of the bag and not where it should be, on the jerky. If you're expecting bubble gum soft jerky, this isn't for you, if you like the texture and feel of wet, moist, super tender jerky like Jack Link's than this definitely isn't for you, but if you're looking for REAL jerky, seasoned near perfection that you actually have to tear with your teeth and chew like jerky is supposed to be than this is definitely for you. I love it, my wife loves it, as well do my kids. I'll continue looking and trying to find anything that's better, I'm looking to find the very best out there, so far this is it and I will keep bags on hand while we sample others. It's pretty close to perfect for me, so I may not ever find better. It is definitely my go to so far and I will re-order any time we get low on our stock.

Great taste, better jerky
Wild bills hickory smoked beef jerky is pretty good mass made jerky. It is not like Slim Jims or Jacks Link. You can actually tell this is made from steak. And yes I am sure Jim Bobs country store makes some mean fresh made jerky at you local store, but this is made for the masses and is great. This is not a soft easy to chew jerky, it takes work and reel teeth to chew your way through it. And I like that. I have had other brands that tend to be a little too tender (think Jacklinks Nuggets) and I do not like that those at all. As mentioned, yes Wild Bills jerky is salty, but I personally don't find it to be over powering to the point you can't taste the flavor. I feel like people posting those reviews are sensitive to salt. I'd suggest buying some from a local store before buying a big bag online if you can find it. Anyways, you get 30 good sized strips in the one I bought, I ate four as soon as it came in and it was as good as always. These make for a great snack for work, home, or when out hiking. Attached some photos, and placed one next to my kindle paper white for size comparison. I don't work for Amazon and I did pay out of pocket for this product. Pros Great taste Good meat used Last long Cons A little pricey

This was horrible!! Is it a different Recipe or different manufacturer? Gross!!
This is not the same. I have been eating wild Bills for over 30 years and the texture and flavor are completely different. It was gross. Did they change? Was it a bad batch? I checked expiration and it’s good until July 2026. Didn’t even have the crystallized salt on the jerky. Tasted like a generic version that cost $10. Very disappointed.

Awful recent batches
I have been purchasing wild bills smoked beef jerky for over 20 years. Originally buying by the stick at gas stations as a teenager to buying bulk supplies by the pounds for many years now. I was no longer able to purchase this jerky by bulk in store when I moved to another state. I've ordered wild bills jerky over 30 times on Amazon alone. What is going on with this product? Every now and then I've received an unsavory batch but the past two pound bags have been inedible..dry, stale, and have a foul odor.
