Are the dimensions actually 8 x 5 x 12 inches or is that Amazon's measurement of the box?

The correct item dimensions are: 4x6 and it is 1 3/4 inches tall when lying flat. Hope that helps. I really like this mixer. It works perfectly for the two turntables I have hooked to it.

Can I use two record players with built in phono pre amps and a speaker set that has rca plugs?

Yes but one set is master out and other is record out . Doesn't sound as good on record out or as loud.

My nephew only has one speaker, can he use this mixer with it . . . he's only 15 and doesn't have alot of equipment.

One speaker is fine as long as he connects the mixer via RCA cable to a stereo receiver. Or if the speaker is a powered amp he can connect RCA cable directly to mixer.

Is there a que function? How do you hear what you’re fading in to? Thanks!

This mixer does not have a que function. I keep the master knob on max and use my headphones to time and fade into next track.
