Is this item sterile?

Yes it was clean I’m not sure if it’s sterile which means free from bacteria or other living microorganisms; totally clean. I used to put cocoa butter samples in and didn’t have a problem.

What is the max temp for liquids being poured into these jars?

I'd say a max of 150 degrees. I've tried to do 160, and they began to melt slightly...
