Hoover Commercial PortaPower Lightweight Canister Vacuum Cleaner, Bagged Canister Vac with Attachments, 2-in-1 Vac and Blower, Corded Vacuum Cleaners for Commercial Use

I just purchased my 3rd one of these Hoover PortaPower Lightweight Vacuums.. The first two each lasted about 10 years of hard residential household use. (e.g., I vacuum at least every week). In both cases the motors did eventfully gave out. Some folks might think 10 years isn't a very long life span for a vacuum; but I think that's pretty good, given the reasonable price and the solid quality of it's cleaning power and features. Here's the things I particularly like about this machine: consistently strong suction over its entire lifetime; so lightweight an 80+ yr. old can tote it around by it's shoulder strap; a super long electrical cord; reusable cloth filter; Easily picks up both fine dust as well as dog hair off furniture as well as floors----a lot of dog hair ! (from multiple Afghan Hounds in residence). It's a good reliable, reasonably priced machine. If I'm still alive and vacuuming in 10 yrs, I'll purchase another, should this one die before me!

Got this as a gift for my mom who owns a cleaning business. She loves it so much she got a second one to use at home. She also loves that she can buy extra reusable filters and has ones for specific houses/jobs. Not too heavy and the handle has a good weight and feels sturdy. Also has a good reach, long enough to get in tough places. Love the attachments, multifunctional. Great value for what it is. Only improvements I’d suggest are that the shoulder strap could be a little more comfortable and the strap to hold the cord pops off a lot and could be designed better. Overall a great purchase.

This is the best vacuum I have ever had. Over the years I have purchased two for myself and numerous others for family and friends. Well worth the money. Very easy to put over your shoulder and vacuum away. No more tripping over the canister or banging it into the walls. Suction is good. It is also great for cleaning your car. I will never have another style vacuum.

Second day using this also vacuum! I'm a big car cleaning guy so I tested it out in the car that was filled with very stubborn dog hair. This vacuum lived up to the test and I put it through a serious test in the car. It was able to reach the very small cracks down in between the seats and on the side. Would have done much better if the head of the vacuum was a little bit smaller but that's neither here nor there. It got the job done. Secondly, completed an upstairs vacuum on a tile floor. Great job. Completed third job on the stairs outstanding. Great suction Great power great distance on the cord. Now for the cons not very many guns but my first con is the back flap on the back that has the filter does not stay locked. Second con is the changing heads? I was a little bit worried about them being cheaply made but they seem to attach and remove easily so this one not so much a kind. But I will still put it in that category just because I felt like the attachments look as if they are cheaply made but the extensions are very strong. Very sturdy. Yes I would recommend.

Powerful, portable and versatile. I love it for hard to reach areas and stairs. Don't waste your money on battery powered vacuums. They don't have the grunt to do a great job.

This was a terrible purchase. There are many much better vacuums for the price, and even lower prices, as I'm now seeing as I search for a new vacuum after only 9 months of using this one. It never worked well, but was somewhat tolerable. I thought i needed to get used to it since I've never used this style before. I really should have returned it instead. It has moderate to low suction on hard floors. It doesn't work on my area rugs without a huge fuss and even then only a little. I don't have carpets, so I can't comment on that. Emptying the bag is awful - it spreads dust everywhere and is impossible to clear out without putting your hands in the bag to remove everything - gross! Nothing is clogged but it loses suction over time (even with poor suction from the start) so now it is pretty much useless. The only positive is the attachments and long cord. The attachments dont help much with no suction in the vacuum, but the attachments themselves are nice. I would definitely not buy again and can't envision this being a worthwhile purchase for anyone. I finally gave up on it and bought an upright vacuum and am loving having suction again, but hate that I had to buy two vacuum cleaners in less than a year.

Plusses: Portable, lightweight, quieter (than most vacuums), and cloth bag is easy to empty and clean. The attachments are decent quality and easy to switch and use. The main carpet attachment does a good job of vacuuming the from the sides. It's not the most powerful vacuum; however, suction power is pretty good for its portable size. The attachments offer flexibility when cleaning different surfaces and areas. Big Minus: The long 35.5 Ft cord. Hoover cut corners on quality despite it being a long cord. While it appears to be of decent quality, it not. It's made from cheap materials that bunches up and gets tangled constantly, no matter how many times you stretch it out and un-tangle it!!. My Housekeeper refuses to use this vacuum, because the constant tangling. I've used many commercial/professional grade 50 FT extension cords, and good quality cords never bunches up and get badly tangled.

This is a pretty good, portable vacuum. It's small so requires more often maintenance cleaning of head, hose and bag. I haven't used it with disposable bags but the reusable, cleanable one that it comes with seems good. You'll want access to an outdoor area to knock dust from bag after emptying contents. Does not like wood splinters.

Me encanta bien útil para el carro mejor que las de baterías pues porque no te quedas sin batería. Limpiar el carro desafortunadamente requiere más de 20 minutos porque eso duran las baterías de las portátiles y esta caray súper potente súper rápida y puede ponerle bolsita de papel que yo compré así que limpio el carro y tiro la bolsita de papel cuando se llene cosa que no ha pasado porque como es pura tierra tarda mucho y no se llena.

I love this vacuum, I have been using it for my cleaning business. They are very versatile and easy to take everywhere. Great suction, easy to clean the bag (handwash it when dirty) and light to carry. Takes some time to get used to but once you do you will never go back to a canister vac.
