Harperton Pluckit - Professional Tweezers Set - Slant + Pointed Precision Tips

UPDATED REVIEW: After I posted my original review below, I was contacted by a customer services rep from Harperton to ask about the issues that I raised in it. We exchanged a few emails and the CSR offered to send me a replacement set of tweezers because she suspected that I'd received a dud for the point tweezers. The replacement package arrived yesterday and that CSR was right. The new set of point tweezers worked really well and I can see them being a good go-to tool when I travel. I'm really glad that that CSR reached out to me to find out about my experience and offer to make things right. The company definitely deserved a better review than I'd originally given, so I wanted to make this update. --------- ORIGINAL REVIEW: If you're buying this set with the intention of using the point tweezers a lot, save your money because they're terrible. I bought these to have a good backup for my more expensive Tweezerman point tweezers that I could use when traveling for work. The Harperton point tweezers are fine for breaking the skin to get at ingrown facial hairs, but they aren't aligned well and can't grab onto hairs, which pretty much makes them useless. The price on this set was so low that it didn't make sense to send them back, so I ended up buying another Tweezerman set and these Harperton ones will just sit in a drawer somewhere and go unused.

My wife now uses these exclusively, instead of the Tweezerman pairs (one red, one black, but that's just the paint job) she used to use. These are a quality pair of tweezers. Now I want a pair for my EDC backpack. I actually used the pointy tweezers to help me thread a neck strap through a tight binocular slot. Glad I had them at hand when I needed them. (They were on the kitchen counter as they'd just been delivered.) I've reached the point where I think I'm going to check for a Haperton version of whatever personal care product I'm about to buy. I've tried their tweezers (these), their fingernail and toenail clipper set and their large-handled serious ingrown toenail clippers. Oh, and their little file thingies as well. I'd forgotten about those. All four of these products (the finger/toe pair were a set) have been trouble-free purchases that I've been happy about afterwards. And my wife likes them too, which is a small miracle. 10 March 2018 Update: These (the pointy ones) are awesome for wood splinters. Just whoah. Pulled two tiny splinters with these so far — one in my hand, one in my daughter's. So glad I had these.

Last March I bought a quality set of tweezers on Amazon because I was tired of tweezers that just wouldn't grab and hold tiny splinters and fine mustache and beard hairs. I had been very pleased with these new tweezers but then I bought Pluckit from Halperton on a deal they were offering. I have found Halperton products to be so well made that I thought I would give Pluckit a try even though I did not think they would perform any better than my well made current tweezers. I was wrong. The Pluckit slant tweezer grips and holds even very fine, hard to see hairs and splinters better than any tweezers I have ever owned. The sharp-ended tweezer is excellent for getting at splinters that have buried themselves into the skin. The day after the tweezer set arrived I received tumbleweed splinters from dragging wind blown piles of them out of my yard. I should have worn gloves. The sharp-ended tweezers pulled the splinters without having to use an assist pin or needle to "loosen" these under-the skin splinters. This is a great set....you won't be sorry.

The first set of these I bought were impressive. So much so that I wanted to buy a second set. The pointed tweezers that came in the first set were very precise with only the tiniest burr still left on the tips. I use them for very precise jobs (such as pulling very small metal splinters out my hands/fingers.) I decided to buy another set to keep in my shop so I can get the splinters out right away. While the pointed pair in the second set still closes nicely, it doesn't have the very precise tips that the first one did. I used a belt sander to modify them and bring them into a very fine point. For tweezing eyebrows and similar things, this set is fantastic. They close well and hold tight. If you are wanting to do work that might require the use of magnification, you'll either need to modify these or go with something more precise. Harperton customer service is fantastic. They immediately responded to my inquiries.

I love the versatility that this set of tweezers provides. They have a nice weight and balance and the tips on both of the models provided in the set are sharp and crisp. I personally have found that the tweezers are precise and strong, tailor made for a variety of tasks in personal grooming, first aid, and craftwork. I also love the little zip-lock vinyl carrying case. It makes transporting and storage a breeze. Don't waste your time with the cheap knock-offs, this set here is the real deal!"

They are do not work well at all! Waste of money. I went back to using my old ones. I actually came back on here to edit my original comment . I lost my old tweezers and had to start using these. After using them multiple times the tweezers have loosened up. The vendor offered to send me a new set when I entered a one star but I told him not to waste his time. I still would not say that these are the best tweezers, but they warrant more than a one star rating!!

I love everything about this product, from packing to messaging to the performance of both tweezers. Harperton makes a quality product you can feel it when you pick up the tweezers. I was pleasantly surprised when the package came in a yellow plastic carrying case. This makes it so easy to keep the set together. Both tweezers firmly grab the hair and work perfectly. I was really impressed by the ingrown hair tweezer...I no longer have to wait for the hair to expose itself, I was able to easily get those annoying little "dots"! Highly recommended.
