Review: I'm battling a plague of mice. These mice attracted snakes. The snakes follow the mice into the house, and there they are, in my kitchen. Please don't tell me how good innocent little snakes are. I am terrified of them. Right now I am doing battle with a 4-foot King snake. He's hunting mice. I'm hunting him. Mice are smart little devils. If you let them, they will destroy your house. Down through the years I have employed humane snap traps, and cats. Cats are the best as long as they are strictly indoor adventurers. I am between cats right now, and must resort to my own devices. Mice will avoid snap traps fairly quickly. I have had some success with green pellet poisons, but it takes awhile. Ultrasonics are not working for the mice. I am desperate because of the snake, so I have decided glue traps will help me solve my problems. Not the happy choice, but it's me or them. I chose this glue trap because it says it can catch snakes too. They are a decent size. They are two to a pack. They come folded over with the glue facing inward. There is a small plastic hinge which has always broken, but that's okay with me. Once you open the box, you have to place two traps or set up a sandwhich board style along your baseboards. They are easy to pry apart. They have little projections to keep them reasonably apart. The glue is very strong. I accidentally rolled an empty, large vitamin bottle onto the first one, and it wasn't going to come off, period. I had to leave it attached. There is not much of a glue free edge to them, so handle carefully. The first night I caught a full grown mouse. It was an awful experience. He couldn't get free. He already lived his best life in my kitchen. But, the next night, nothing. The mouse telegraph went around, and all the traps were avoided. I saw with my own eyes a mouse crawl upside down, like Tarzan, under the lip of the drainboard, in order to avoid walking on the trap. That's how smart they are. So, I had to bait my traps with some of the little green poison pellets, which mice love. Third night I caught two small mice on one trap. The next day, the snake came out. He didn't seem to notice those two mice, but went over to inspect the first mouse trap. He got caught in the glue. I admit that I was pleased as heck, what an enormous weight off my back, having caught that snake. The snake thrashed and tried to flee. Because this trap was up on my center island, he fell onto the floor behind a box. Not to worry. I didn't even look. I figured I would deal with it when the snake was tired. Well, do I have to tell you? Not only did the snake get loose, but it showed up crawling towards me. What a nightmare. I opened a larger, different brand of glue trap, just to see if it would hold the snake, if I ever catch it again. That trap just seems bigger, without any particular extra strength to the glue. I plan to mix up the brands of glue traps and just keep them deployed. So, I think that this brand of glue trap is fine for mice. I plan to bait mine, even though it says you don't have to do that. It is not strong enough to hold a young, healthy King snake, and probably not a garden snake. Maybe little, tiny brand new snakes, but not full grown ones, and certainly not the kind you see pictured on the box. Still, I feel safer with my ring of traps, and that counts for something. I would buy again.
Review: These glue traps work GREAT! Better than the rat "Snap" kill traps (that seldom work). Put these where you think the rodents frequent to hide (in & out). For me that was to the left & right of the fridge & front of the oven. They put just one foot on there & their Done & can't escape. This stuff is Super, super Sticky! Don't touch it or you'll spend a lot of time trying to clean it off your fingers. I've also used the live trap snap door cages which work ok with the right bait but these critters are pretty darn smart and cautious so don't always work. These glue traps DO and i have caught more with these than the snap door cages. Of coarse there's the humane issue here... with the cages you can release them live & well into the wild if you want. With the glue traps you can't. Their Stuck Good & you can't get them off. So you have to end their misery somehow. Hope this helps you decide which is the best choice for you. ....Be Well

**Q: Does this work for snakes?**
A: I can confirm it does. Caught a 10” or so racer snake on one. It had been dead a long time and was all dried out.

**Q: How well do these work outside?**

**Q: I have a 1’ basilisk lizard in my front yard. Can I put the trap outside and will it attract and catch him?**
A: Probably will but other creatures may be trapped first.

**Q: What to do with them after capture? The painful squeaking of the mice get unbearable and they eat each other**
A: I put them in a small grocery bag, tie it tight, and put them in the outside garbage.  You can drown them in a 5 gallon bucket or use a pellet gun.  I went back to the "snap traps", since death was almost instantaneous (I had a raccoon move the box cover I had over the glue trap and I ended catching a bird. (Mouse/rat = yes; Bird = NO!.  If you feel skirmish about trapping rats/mice, suggest you call an exterminator and let them handle it.  BTW, this is when some of your younger "on the farm training " kicks in! I am now after about 2 months near the end of "rats in my crawl space/basement" after about 2 months, and now I am down to only the babies, and it's a bit harder seeing them die than the older ones who gnaw and keep you awake most of the night!  I also found all the places they were getting in and seal;ed them up.  Good luck my friend and fellow exterminator.
