## Description

Cichlid Lake Salt™ is a chemically sound blend of salts designed to replicate the natural environment of Rift Lake African Cichlids. It contains all physiologically essential elements such as magnesium, calcium, sodium, potassium, and includes trace components such as iron, aluminum, and iodide.Although the major Rift Lakes contain basically the same mineral salts, they do so in greatly differing concentrations. Cichlid Lake Salt™ is formulated so that dosages vary depending on the lake of origin and need only be added when setting up an aquarium or with water changes. Many competing products are little more than combinations of Epsom salt and bicarbonate of soda. This will not provide a complete replication of the mineral salts that are contained in the lakes of Africa, in particular calcium and potassium. Seachem’s Tanganyika Buffer™ (pH 9.0–9.4) and Malawi/Victoria Buffer™ (pH 7.8–8.4) should be used to adjust carbonate hardness and pH.

Review: Works well and resulted in happy Cichlids
Review: Essential if you have African Cichlids. I produce my own RO water as my tap water is high in Nitrates. So I use this to put minerals back into the water along with using Cichlid Trace and Tanganyika Buffer. All this results in my Mbuna looking their best.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: Question abou the size of the bottle, is the 1kg just a big bottle or 4 of the 250g bottles?**
A: 1 kg more convenient in long run

**Q: I have used proper ph 8.2 in my tank, if i change to cichlid lake salts will i no longer have to use proper ph?**
A: I always use baking soda with the Cichlid liane salt. The lake salt does not change my PH. I’ve been using this salt for about nine years.

**Q: Is there a shelf life or expiration date on a product such as this?**
A: I don't believe there is an expiration date. If there is it's probably years. If it hardens then I believe you might have lost some of the nutrients from moisture but still usable.

**Q: Can someone please explain the seachem cichlid products to me? do i need the salts and the trace elements?? i already got the buffer .**
A: I have had African cichlid for years and I use the cichlid lake salts and malawy buffer I never have used trace elements and my fish have thrived and shown great color and have young
