This fits well on the counter and is not obtrusive. It is easy to clean. We use compostable bags and empty it daily, so smell is not an issue. Review: Litter scoop trash - I know this is a compost bin but I needed something a little bigger than a desk top trash can I know it's unconventional but I use it as a trash can when im scooping my cats litter box ( I don't like holding the doggie bags when im scooping) it's wide enough so I don't drop any litter or gross stuff on the floor and plenty of inches in space left all around where the litter scoop doesn't touch the sides I have a 5.2 inch litter scoop. It is small and compact enough that it doesn't take up a whole lot of room but deep enough to hold a good amout of litter or other things for what you will be using it for. The lid stays up perfectly im not sure about smell since im not using it as a compost bin but I do not leave the scooped litter in there I take it out after and replace the bag for the next scoop. So i cant say anything about keeping smells out but For me this little bin is amazing and perfect for what I was looking for and what i need. It feels very sturdy. Super easy to clean and give it a good wash. It stores easily under the sink and you can grab it easily with the handle.
