It's a bowl that has a patent pending revolutionary lip around the top. It's designed at an angle which pushes food onto your utensil avoiding any spillage and overflows. We didn't notice the lip of the bowl really until we went to scoop some guac out and whatever didn't fit on the chip ended up back in the bowl instead of on the table.
