How long does this last on the shelf, unopened? I.e., how far ahead was the expiration date? Thanks!

I have used similar products several years after purchase without problems and the baking outcomes were first rate This year I’m using up orange peel from 2 years ago. It looks drier than what I bought this year but tastes fine. I have to say I was disappointed w the 1# mixed dried peel I purchased this year. It was chopped into much smaller pieces than in the past.

Are these grown in China?

Very doubtful. Citron, the primary ingredient is grown mostly in the West Indies, and the Mediterranean. Winchester foods are produced in NY, USA. It would make sense their supplier is geographically closer than China to me.
