Excellent knife that looks incredible. Higher quality than anticipated!
Excellent, sharp, beautiful, and ergonomically sound knife. I gave this as a gift for christmas and the recipient is in love with it. It performs so well and is extremely sharp. It cuts like butter and the grip feels great in the hand. Fantastic knife for the price. Highly recommend.

A great knife!
The Nakiri knife is an excellent, capable knife at this price point. I use it mainly for cutting vegetables, so I use it as more of a specialist knife, and in this area it excels. With it's "flat-ish" (almost straight) belly, forward slice chopping through ingredients are a breeze and mincing garlic can be done quickly with ease. I LOVE its aesthetics, although I've heard that the Tsuchime finish doesn't always prevent food from sticking to it, I still think it works better than knives without the finish. It also looks great if displaying it on a magnetic knife holder. I appreciate the stainless content of the blade which makes maintenance a lot easier. Although the 9cr mov steel is not as high-end as other knife steels, it really is the heat treatment and blade and edge geometry that count for me. It will shred magazine paper all day, but maybe not hold an edge for as long as the higher-end steels. I always hone with a ceramic stone and leather strop often anyway, and I'm not a professional chef who has to prepare ingredients for hundreds of meals on a daily basis. On an emotional note, I think its a functional work of art that also makes food preparation easier and fun and gets me excited every time I use it.

GREAT KNIFE THAT'S STAIN RESISTABT BUT NOT STAINLESS
This is an attractive, sharp and sturdily knife. However, it should not be described as having a stainless-steel blade. At best, the blade is stain resistant. It is more like a true carbon steel blade. In my experience, the blade will rust if exposed to moisture without being cleaned and dried. It should never be placed in a dish washer. The manufacturer evidently concedes that it's not stainless-steel by including a small container of oil for coating the blade between uses. This is not a criticism. Stainless-steel blades do not get as sharp as carbon steel blades, because the stainless blades are softer and more flexible. Because this knife is carbon steel, it will give a sharper edge that holds up well. The downside is that it will require a bit of extra care. Simply wipe it off immediately after use and coat the blade with a bit of oil from time to time - any cooking oil will do.

Great knife for a great price
Can’t believe how nice this knife is for the price. I caught it on sale but even at regular price it’s a steal. I got this to use for cutting vegetables and it works great. It came extremely sharp so be careful if you’re not used to these kinds of knives. Also comes with a really nice gift box and card if you’re getting this for someone else.

Great quality for the price and company
I had a problem with my blade when it came in and the maker very very quickly listened to what I had to say as a blacksmith to help identify the problem with my order and took it to heart to their production line. In no time they send me a new knife and I couldn’t be happier with them. For the price you pay you get a very nice, light, clean vegetable knife. Honestly will say the edge didn’t need any extra work on my part to be a clean cutting knife. Very impressed and will order more for myself and others.

Great beater knife for any home cooks kitchen!
The product came fast (thanks Amazon) and was shipped safely. Upon opening the box, it comes in a beautiful wooden case, that while not built with the highest attention to detail, is perfectly suitable for it's purpose. The box comes with blade oil to start, which is a very welcome and nice surprise. Onto the knife itself. It's on the heavier side of knives, not to anyone's surprise, and cuts like it. It's hair shaving sharp right out of the package, and cuts through onions and carrots like butter.Overall, a beautiful knife that does it's job of cutting vegetables perfectly, and is well worth the money. However, if it's between this and an 8"-10" chef's knife for your primary weapon, I'd go with a chef's knife, as it's much more versatile.

Beautiful Nakiri knife!
This is a very nice Nakiri knife. Very sharp and cuts like a laser. Craftsmanship is top notch. Beautiful handle too. Don't put it in the dishwasher and wash and dry it by hand right after you use it and use mineral oil on the blade and handle. Comes in a nice wooden presentation box with some oil but I use my own oil on it just because. I have real Japanese knives and this one is just as good as those so far. If you don't feel like throwing down $150 or so on a real Japanese nakiri then believe me this works just fine and looks just as nice at a third of the price. The quality is very good

Amazing knife and quality company
I originally bought a Nakiri as my first Japanese style knife and was blown away by the packaging the knife arrived in and the overall quality of the blade and the beautiful handle. The steel is sharp with an incredible design, the handle is amazing and I can tell that this is going to be a forever knife. I also just bought the Gyuto and it's just as great! 5/5 stars - I would recommend this company and any of these knifes to anybody looking for a Japanese knife made out of a hard steel that will hold an edge.

Love it!
This is the second knife from this brand I've purchased, I also have a traditional chef's knife, and I love both, I use them every day, and I'm learning how to sharpen them on whetstones. Great for anyone wanting to improve their knife cuts. It's very easy to use, good handle, nice balanced weight, beautiful to look at too, I bought a magnetic knife holder for them so I can keep them on display.

So much better than I was anticipating
A lot better than I was expecting use it on the regular. Very little stone sharpening to help keep it's edge for long periods of time. Feels great in your hand even after 8 hours of prep. Definitely won it's way into my favorite prep knife when it comes to veg and fruits.

Solid knife
Arrived nice and sharp. has held edge so far. No sheath included. Stuff can get stuck in pattern on top of blade.
