Great scanner at a great price!
Wow, what a scanner.! As a retired IT Analyst, I started looking at photo scanners and happened across this one by chance. It arrived today and it was very simple to set up. I went to Plustek's website and downloaded the drivers from there as I don't have a CD Drive on my laptop. Setup was very easy and simple while following their Quick Start Guide. In a manner of about 10 minutes or so, I was scanning loose photos that I received from my mother. The photos ranged in size from 4"x6" down to 1 1/2"x 2 1/8". I even scanned some loose pieces of paper, and the scanner handled them all. It works great on my Windows 11 laptop and the scans open up with a variety of image software. I had no issues with pictures jamming, especially think Polaroid photos from the 1970s. Overall, I am extremely happy with the scanner and how easy it is to use.

So glad I bought this!
Oh, I am so glad I ordered this photo scanner. I hesitated because of the price, but went ahead and got it because I have over a thousand pictures to scan and my old Kodak portable scanner wasn't cutting it anymore. It has been fantastic for scanning all my old physical photos. I love these features about it: I don't have to get the photo exactly in the middle of the scanner, it scans it correctly each time, it scans horizontally or vertically and saves it that way, the quality is adequate for what I need it for, it scans up to an 8x10, it's super quick and I really like the restore photo feature. I had some old beach pictures from 26 years ago that were a little faded and it restored the color so well. Others have said that you can't change the default name, but I was able to under settings. For instance, I want all of my son's pictures saved by year, so I renamed the default name to 1998 and it saves them as 1998 (1), 1998 (2), etc. Too bad I went solely on the reviews for that and found out after 3 years worth of pictures. Oh well, I can also rename the group of them in Windows Explorer. I also discovered (wish I had played around with this sooner) that you can reorder pictures within the group of 50 and it will save them in that order consecutively to your folder. Meaning if I had 4th of July pictures grouped together and then I found a random 4th picture in September, I could move that one photo next to the others and it would save in that order. I don't mind the limit of 50 pictures, it forces me to deal with the photos in manageable chunks. This may be my longest review ever on Amazon, but I just really love this scanner and it is going to save me so much time and headache getting all my physical copies digital! Well worth the money. The only somewhat negative I have found so far is the noise it makes while scanning, I wish it was a little quieter, but it's fine. My husband could hear it in the other room, but not big deal.

Fast, easy-to-use, and high quality images
LOVE this photo scanner. I had been looking for a way to quickly digitize prints and provide decent quality. My HP flatbed printer scanner is way too slow. A friend recommended the Plustek Z300, and it works great. You just feed the photo into the roller scanner and it scans it and shoots it out about as fast as you can load it. (You have to load each one, no batch processing.) SCAN SPEED: At 300 dpi, it zips prints through faster than I can load them. Even at 600 dpi, it's pretty fast. Scans small prints to enlargements of 8x10 or 8.5x11. IMAGE QUALITY: I'm a photographer, so I'm pretty picky about my images. The image quality straight from the machine is pretty good if the photo was shot in daylight. If it was shot in other lighting or the photo is faded, it may need some correction, but the editing software makes it quick and easy to correct once you learn the various functions. Way faster than using Photoshop to open each photo and adjust. I use 300 dpi for most photos and 600 dpi for photos that are special/important. EASY TO INSTALL: It comes with the application software on a CD or you can download it from their website. Was super easy to download and start using. Pretty intuitive to use. PROS: Good image quality, fast, small desktop footprint. Works with PC or MAC. CONS: Sometimes, it's a little tricky lining up the photo straight to be fed into the scanner. Would be nice if there was some adjustable edge guide you could line it up with. Although if you're a little crooked, the software will auto correct. Because it's a roller feed, you can't scan pages in a book. But that's what a flatbed scanner is for. Be sure your photos are dust free or it will show up in the scan. OVERALL: If you have a bunch of photos you need to archive/scan, this will do the trick with minimal hassle. Great way to digitize an entire photo album or shoebox (however you store them) quickly. Highly recommend this!

SO disappointed! Updated, Great little scanner!
Update: I changed from a one star to a 4 star. I returned the first scanner as you can see below. However, I loved the size and ease so much and there were so many positive reviews that my husband bought me another one. Once again the green line showed up. I decided to contact the manufacturer before returning this one. I was told the green line appears because of dust and to clean the lens. WOW, WHAT A DIFFERENCE!!!! It takes time as I need to check each picture, thus a 4 star review instead of 5 stars, but it's a great little scanner!!! I searched and searched for the right scanner and this seemed to be the best for my budget. I had read the reviews where the pictures ended up having lines in them, but there were so many positive reviews, that I decided to take a chance. I scanned about 150 photos before the line started showing up. I re calibrated and that didn't help, so I shut the machine down and left it over night. Got up this morning and tried again and the lines are still there. I am SO disappointed as it worked so well, the program that comes with it works well and all the pictures until the green lines showed up were beautiful. I hope they can fix this to make it work right. It scanned fast even at 600 dpi, it small and easy to use.

I Love This!! Great find!!
This is nearly plug and play once you download the product application. It is so fast! I thought I would be at this all day, I had a large pile of photos to go through. It literally took minutes. It is super easy to rotate the photo if it went in the wrong direction, and easy to delete and rescan. The color quality if perfect. It is light weight and so easy to use. I uploaded to a regular Windows based computer. I haven't worked with the organization features yet, but there are there to use, and I will eventually.

I Love This Scanner
Like many others, I have multiple boxes of old photos, and I've started on the project of converting them to digital images. I put a lot of time into researching photo scanners, and the ones I was interested in were pretty pricey. Timewise, this project is out of the question using the flatbed scanner available in my printer. After a lot of research, I decided on this Plustek scanner. I've had it for about 7 or 8 months now, and I love it. You can scan up to 50 photos at a time with no buttons or adjustments - just feed the photos in one at a time. At 300dpi, the process is fast. The images drop into Plustec's software, and you have the ability to do some editing and color adjustment. I've found that this software works well for me, is easy to use, and is all I need. I just want to get all these photos scanned in and organized and I'm not terribly interested in any serious editing at this point. I'm especially happy with the color enhancement that's available for those old color photos from decades past that are fading or turning yellow - it really gives those photos new life, just by clicking on a button or two. I have other photo editing software on my laptop, and I'll worry about serious editing later, if I even decide to go that far. After I've made any quick color adjustments, I just move the photos onto my hard drive, where I can organize them., and save them on an external hard drive. The Plustek scanner does a great job and has a very attractive price tag. The user manual is detailed and very helpful. I've heard good things about the customer service, but I haven't needed to use it. There's also a case available for it here on Amazon, and I keep it in the case on my desk to eliminate dust. The scanner doesn't take up much room on the desk, so I keep it there to work on my scanning project when I have a little extra time. I recommend this scanner for anybody who's looking to tackle a photo archiving project without breaking the bank.

Great scanner at the right price point!
This scanner is so easy to use and gives great results! No cropping needed. You have to scan in each one individually, but it's quick, and a lot of pictures won't batch scan anyways since they stick together, so I wasn't concerned about that feature. So happy to finally find a scanner where I don't have to lift the lid to place. I've scanned thousands of old photos as well as documents & memorabilia. Highly satisfied at a great price!

Money well spent - wish I purchased this years ago!
I can't say enough good things about this scanner. It is so easy to setup, I just had to install the software and plug it in and I was scanning in minutes. It will feed photos, documents, cards, and even fragile documents in a plastic sheet protector and still scan perfectly. I like having the choice of 300 or 600 dpi, and the software is easy to learn and has more than minimal editing options. In the first week since I received it, I've scanned 2000 photos, and 1200 fragile historical family documents, including hundreds of letters over 175 years old, without a single jam or torn original. Definitely my best tech purchase in a very long time.

Guter Scanner

Per me fantastico!!!
Perdere 30 minuti a foto........avrei finito fra 20 anni!!!! Per me quindi consigliatissimo. Roberto.

Good for old Printed Family photos and any A4 down document
When I started to look for a photo scanner I was going to spend £400 plus on a multi-feed scanner, I'm glad I didn't. As it's very unlikely the very small photos from 40 - 90 years old would have been able to go in the auto feeder. That said this is a great piece of kit and works very well. you have to feed each photo but take's in the photo once the photo reaches a certain point and scans very quickly. I have scanned over 1500 photos over about 10 hours and this includes filing them etc. far quicker than an all-in-one lifting and placing each one. I already have four other scanners 2No A4 BW both sheetfed, 1no A4 single sheet colour and 1no A3/A4 multi feed/single sheet colour. Three are Brother, one HP. All are very good but none does this job as well as the Plustek Some reviews complain about the software but it does what it says on the tin its simple to use and once you get into the rhythm very easy. There is a limit of 50 photo for each batch but all you have to do is save this batch in a location of your choice and start again you can scan 1 or fifty it doesn't matter and save each time. The quality is fine and when you consider the age of some of the photos you are likely to scan and the cameras our ancestors used. This scanner brings out a good image sometimes better than the original. I am very pleased with it. One note, this scanner does not scan negatives for that you would need a Plustek OpticFilm 8200i SE which is about £300. It's been very good value for money especially when you consider the competition.
