If you attempt to connect the cord upside down, the cord will fall out of the fryer socket. Note which side you are trying to put the plug into the fryer socket, if it falls out turn the plug over and plug in with the opposite side up. Also the cord can't have ANY TENSION on it. The cord needs to be able to be plugged in to the wall socket without any form of pulling on the cord connected to the fryer. If you can't do this then you need a appliance extension cord (a heavy duty since plug extension generally 3ft long with only 1 plug) Don't just buy any cheap extension cord or power strip as they aren't designed to handle the load of the fryer and can overheat and start a fire. **Q: Does the fry basket have a high position out of the oil?
