Can these be used on a stainless steel fridge with out leaving a mark when removed?

I presume you can. I haven't tried on stainless steel, but I don't see why not. This product doesnt leave Mark on anything I've used them on.

Could you use these to mount a small roach bait i.e. combat to a toe kick? if i leave them loose, i’m afraid my cats will get into them.

Is this easy to remove without leaving residue of damage behind?

yes. However, it didn't stick more than a week or two. I had used it to stick a lightweight electric lamp cord.to a painted wall. The cord was already hanging vertically and I used the squares to keep it from dangling away from the wall. The squares were mounted at 3 inch intervals.
