These are simple 2 wire connections and can be run in series with a single hot wire and a single ground. For these I started out with a 3/8 inch drill because I wanted to make sure I didn't go too big. I then just wallowed it out a few times to get the housing and wiring through with ease. Be careful where you drill and make sure that this light is not directed towards anyone. They are bright! When aimed at the dark carpet they are just about perfect, and give enough light to find your keys if you drop them. I had previously installed 2 other spot LED's in my trunk and used white lights for that. Much more light and a white color, making loading or searching for the spare tire tools easier.
